We had an amazing 3-day family tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. The journey was very well organized, with comfortable transportation and plenty of interesting stops along the way, including beautiful valleys, traditional villages, and scenic viewpoints. The drive was long, but it never felt tiring thanks to the thoughtful pacing and our excellent driver, who was professional, friendly, and always attentive to our needs—especially traveling as a family. The desert experience in Merzouga was unforgettable. Riding camels across the dunes at sunset was magical, and the night at the desert camp was a unique experience for both adults and children. The camp was comfortable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere around the campfire with music under the stars made it very special. Traveling with family can sometimes be challenging, but everything was handled smoothly, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. The team was flexible and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the trip. I highly recommend this tour for families looking to experience the beauty of Morocco, especially the Sahara Desert, in a well-organized and memorable way.
Very nice experience. Was alone 3 days in the desert, desert camp is incredibly beautiful. Can only recommend it...
Hamid did an excellent job showing us around not only the main attractions (Erg Chebbi, the Sahara desert, Todra gorge, and Ait Ban Hadou), but also taking us to a number of off-the-beaten-path stops. His lunch picks were among the very best food we ate in Morocco during our entire trip, and his recommendations were phenomenal. This was an absolute highlight of our trip.
Our tour in Morocco was absolutely unforgettable. Traveling through the Sahara was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure filled with incredible landscapes, warm hospitality, and unique cultural experiences. A special thanks to Hamid Harouni, who made the journey even better. He was fun, knowledgeable, and always ready to share interesting information that helped us appreciate every stop along the way and also took us to a scenic hidden gem - hillstation Ifrane (switzerland of Morocco) His energy and passion brought the whole experience to life. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended! Will visit again soon :)
Very hospitable and friendly tour organised by Hamid and his group! Very clear information. Stopped at Michlifen to meet extremely friendly monkeys, fed peanuts. Had a great desert tour from Marrakech to Fes.
First day (from Fes to Merzouga) with Mohammed was fine and nicely explained with some tips in some points. Food at the desert was maximum average, not too much to feel authentic local cuisine and only chicken as a main meal. Water at the desert was pricy - 20 MAD for 1,5 l. Desert is really impressive and beautiful! Camel ride not most comfortable but interesting and worth to experience at least once. Berber show at the dessert was strongly for tourists, far away from authentic culture. More of authentic culture you can get at the streets or places in some towns or cities of Morocco. Next 2 days from Merzouga to Ouarzazzate and to Marrakech were focused too much on driving. The driver was silent like a rock and not communicating too much. No stop in Tinghir for a short walk, only panoramic view, although we were driving through it (missed occasion). No communication from the driver that if we want to see something in Ouarzazzate, we have to walk around the town in the afternoon after arrival. In interesting kashbah Ajt ben Haddu we had only 45 minutes although itinery states 60 minutes. It was significant difference. We were in Marrakech past 4 pm, so there was still time that we could spend during the day at the stops. Rose Valley Hotel Ouarzazate has nice rooms and acceptable food (far away from good), but does not provide even a glass of water for the dinner. Completely no drinks - treats guests like enemies. Most probably, they want to press on people to buy water from themselves. I recommend to buy scarf for camel ride and photos in Fes or Marrakech, to pay much less than on the way to Merzouga. To sum up: nice idea, some interesting views, but most of the stops are short, sometimes too short. It could be more authentic instead of pretty much touristic.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and for highlighting the beauty of the Sahara and some of the experiences you enjoyed along the way. We were, however, surprised by the 3-star rating, as throughout your journey we did our best to provide you with additional comfort beyond what you had booked. At the desert camp, for example, you were given a private tent with air conditioning — a premium upgrade not included in your package and offered at no extra cost to you. We also ensured a higher-standard hotel in Ouarzazate to make your stay more enjoyable. While we recognize your comments about food variety and driving times, we kindly feel that the overall rating does not reflect the service, value, and upgrades you received. We truly hope you might reconsider your rating, as it helps us greatly and encourages our team’s extra efforts to be fairly recognized. We sincerely appreciate your time and feedback, and we hope to welcome you again for an even better experience in the future.
We took a transfer from Fez to Merzouga and loved it. It's a very pleasant eight-hour drive, and our driver/guide, Hamid, was wonderful. We made stops in Ifrane and the Ziz Valley, and ate at a good, inexpensive restaurant. We highly recommend it.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it so much.
