Don’t book if on a ship!

We had a cruise port the day of the tour. We can’t control the time the government clears the ship. We can’t control the tender process. We tried to change the time we were to do the painting class. The owner would not change the timeframe, Don’t book if you are on a ship.

Dear Richard, Thank you for your review. I fully understand that certain unforeseen circumstances, such as cruise schedule changes, can happen and may be beyond your control. However, clear and timely communication is absolutely essential in such situations. I had contacted you both the day before and the day prior to confirm the lesson details, but unfortunately received no reply. My phone number was available via all major messaging apps, and the cruise ship offers Wi-Fi on board. Had you informed me even a few hours earlier, I would have been able to reorganize everything for you accordingly. In an effort to accommodate your schedule, I rescheduled your lesson three times — from the original 8:30 to 10:00, then again to 9:30 — each time adjusting my schedule and making additional arrangements to meet your requests. You also specifically asked me to help you arrange transportation from the port, which I organized as a courtesy, even though such services are not part of my standard responsibilities. On the day of the lesson, the driver was already waiting for you at the port, and only at that moment — after my repeated attempts to reach you — you finally informed me that you would not be attending. Unfortunately, by that time, the driver had already been scheduled and waiting and everything were ready for your class at the painting studio. I had to cover the driver’s fee myself, as you have not paid for this service yet. Later, you requested to reschedule the lesson for 3 PM, even though your original booking was at 9:30 AM, with everything already organized and confirmed for that time slot. All future slots were already fully booked, so rescheduling was not possible at that late stage. As per Viator cancellation policy, if a client does not attend the scheduled lesson, a refund is not provided. All of these conditions were clearly outlined during the booking process. Therefore, I must say I am sincerely surprised and saddened to see your negative review, considering the considerable effort, flexibility, and extra services I extended to accommodate your needs. I will also be contacting the support team to provide them with all the details of this situation, so they can assist you in fully understanding the circumstances. Thank you for your attention. Excellent experience!

We had a wonderful time painting. Educational and fun. Plus you leave with a souvenir you created as a reminder.
