The Safari was great! We saw Lions, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephants and plenty of other animals. The highlight for me was the sunset boat tour! It was a great time! Our guide Justin was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! His English was also perfect. It was a great experience and the best way to see Akagera I think.

Dear our esteemed guest, we are happy to hear you had an awesome traveling with us, we hope you choose us next time. Thank you for visiting Rwanda.
Our party of three was met by our guide at our Kigali hotel and spent Saturday and Sunday in Akagera National Park. We had a comfortable safari truck with a roof that opened up for ease of enjoying the landscape and wildlife. We enjoyed a game drive on Saturday afternoon with our guide, a night game drive and morning boat ride run by the park staff, and then a game drive on Sunday before heading back to Kigali. We booked our accommodation directly at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge which was a lovely stay. So much wildlife and nice spots to stop and take lunch/bathroom breaks in the park. Communication with the company was best via WhatsApp and the service was excellent. Highly recommend! And do not miss the night game drive or the boat trip.

Dear David, thanks for leaving us such a wonderful review. We are thrilled that you loved your experience. We put customer experience and satisfaction as our priority, and your review reaffirms the hard work we put in every day. So thanks for your kind words and we look forward to seeing you again.
It’s hard to believe how much wildlife I saw in two days in Akagera National Park - rhinos, giraffes, several types of ungulates, elephants, hippos, alligators, and an incredible number of birds. (A few of the staff reported hearing lions in the vicinity but I didn’t actually see them.) Peter was my guide and went out of his way to locate animals and create an unforgettable experience. He took care of everything: the drive from Kigali, arranging lodging and food, and then leading the actual game drive itself within the park. I stayed at the Karange bush camp near the north end of the park up on a ridge overlooking two vast plains. It was safari camping at its best, with a classic green canvas tent and an outdoor shower open to the night sky and the Milky Way gloriously visible in that location with no light pollution to obscure it. People from the local communities staffed the camp and were friendly and helpful. Food—which was excellent—was served on a platform overlooking the plains and next to a fire pit with chairs all around. The next day, Peter and I headed out early and spent the day exploring the park. When the battery on my camera died, Peter again went the extra mile and drove us to the nearest lodge and asked the staff if I could charge it there. I felt fortunate, as I got some of my best shots of the day afterwards. Peter had also booked a late afternoon boat ride where I saw some incredible birds, including the Goliath heron. We then made our way back to Kigali and arrived by evening. I truly enjoyed interacting with Peter and his employee Henry, who set up the trip for me and showed incredible patience when I asked about various options, all relatively last minute as I didn’t have much time to plan ahead. It was an honor to spend two days with Peter on the actual trip itself and learn about the park and Rwandan history from him. I highly recommend this company! On Akagera itself: I was very impressed with African Park’s and the government’s management of the park. The wildlife populations seemed robust (indeed, we saw many babies and adolescents of several different species). And the lodging was top-notch. It’s all very well done!
Thank you very much for choosing Silverbird tours. It was an honor hosting you. We look forward to your next visit.
This was a fantastic safari! I have been to Akagera three times, and Yvan was the best guide I have experienced! We were a group of seven and were able to see nearly all of the wildlife that we wanted to—even lions! Peter was easy to work with, and very transparent throughout the entire process to ensure that we were getting the best value for our money! I would highly recommend Silverbird if you are looking for a fun, affordable experience at Akagera National Park! We would use them again!
