A different, but absolutely fantastic experience. This trip was worth every penny, I had an experience I will remember forever. I got to see everyday life outside the big city, I was involved in cooking and got to see the daily life of children in one of the volunteer organizations. I highly recommend this experience
I am so happy with choosing to go ti the volunteer program. From 10.30 to 6pm I enjoyed a deep conversation with Tenzing the guy running the organisation, we visited a Buddhist temple ,had lunch and at 3pm the kids arrived from school and we enjoyed games, dances and some homework got done😆, I also enjoyed watching the jewellery being made by the talent ladies there. Special thanks to Aastha and tenzing!
Thank you so much
I can only say good things. This is my second home and family in Nepal. Western mentality will make you think that you go there “to help” but who receives the help and teachings is oneself. It is demanding on the emotional side but also very rewarding!
Thank you so much Nacho
I came to the organization to do volunteer for 5 months,it was a amazing experience. The manager of the organization and staff really did good job to support disadvantaged children and women. They also offer training and job to women . Also during the volunteer time, they gave me much warmth. They are so kind and nice.Hope more people come to do volunteer to help them and I am sure you will really have a unforgetable experience and learn a lot from it.
Thank you so much for your review
I spent with HWC 3 amazing weeks. I was helping to teach English to children but not only. We played, drew pictures, cooked, went to small hikes and we really spent nice and fun time together. Children, Tenzing and Auntie were so warm and welcoming, I really felt like home. I also learned a lot about Nepali culture and customs - I even learned to cook Momos! And I enjoyed deeper talks with Tenzing about Buddhism. I admire and respect Tenzing's determination to help the community and lead such a project - he has a big heart and he helps a lot of people in need. I totally suggest to volunteer with HWC, people there are amazing and I miss them a lot!
Thank you so much Edith for your review.
I participated in the Volunteer with Children and Women program in September 2023 for one month. And it was an incredible experience. I had a great room with a terrace that offres a beautiful view of Kathmandu, along with a bathroom. The children were lovely. I took care of them before and after school, helping them with their homework, playing in the fantastic garden, dancing, doing crafts, and more. During the day, I spent time with the women from the Women Empowerment program. They taught me how to make jewelry. Then I helped them take photos of the jewelry we created to put on their website. The interactions with these women were very enriching and powerful. My experience at the Children’s Home is one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences of my life so far. I became very attached to the children. Now, I can’t wait for one thing : to be able to go back! A big thank you to Tenzing for what he does every day for these women and children.
Thank you so much Ines for your interview
