The tour guide was knowledgeable but gave too much of a commentary about how the same social issues are present today. I was expecting more factual information about the progression of the conflicts that led up to the American Revolution and what the role of the key players were. It seemed very surface level basic information and it lacked focus. Additionally, the tour guides listed seemed more in line with what I was expecting but it doesn't appear that they do the public tours???
We cover in depth events leading up to and including the revolutionary war. We keep History alive and up to date. Our guides are Professors, Educators Giving History with Passion and Knowledge.
We did a 12:30 tour on the last Sunday of May. Sorry I forgot the name of our tour guide but he was great and it was a perfect time frame for our 1 day trip to Boston.
Tour guide's name is Matt. One of the best in the city. Brining Boston’s History to life with Passion,Knowledge and a Sense of Humor.
Prior to booking our Freedom Trail tour, we went to Reddit for unfiltered opinions and reviews. The general consensus was that Boston Town Crier was a solid choice and it didn’t disappoint. Our guide “James Otis” was fantastic; he kept the group engaged with a balance of fun and facts. If you are planning a trip to Boston to do the whole touristy thing, add this to your itinerary.
BostonTownCrier Tours of the Freedom Trail is a premier company. Our guides are the best in the business. Educators, storytellers, teachers bringing Boston’s History to life with Passion,Knowledge and a sense of humor.
Wonderfully done next time will go with my husband ! Stayed in character and was knowing of that time and how they did things. A nice glimpse of the time!
We do bring History to life.
Unfortunate circumstances. I had booked a PRIVATE tour for our 7 family members. On the morning of the tour I received a call that our guide was sick and could we change the time from 11:30 to 2:30. it was an inconvenience but we rearranged our schedule and said ok. I called to reconfirm. When we arrived at appointed time we were told no private guide was available but we could join the small group already scheduled. That group turned out to be almost 30 people. When asked about the refund difference, he talked a credit. I said no and wanted a refund difference of almost $300. We did the tour but felt cheated. I have not received the credit as of today which is a week later. Very disappointed with this experience.
We are an award winning company with letters of accommodations from the Mayor and Governor-Never have we heard the word cheated. We offered a full refund- we asked more than once how can we make it good for you.things happen, first guide at 11:30 woke up coughing and sneezing, we got another guide 20 minutes before tour time he was in an accident. We will gladly issue a refund.
Because trip advisor never told the company that was running the freedom trail, that we paid and schedule a tour. So we never got our private tour at all
BostonTownCrier Tours has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. 100% We never heard from this customer. We never saw the booking. This is not a review about our walking tour, this is a administrative miscommunication.
We had the best time. Can't see enough about our guide or the company. Took a field trip and can not recommend enough!
We do a lot of field trips for schools. We specialize in school groups. Always getting the highest reviews from them.
Very detailed guide. He added an extra stop to Beacon Hill area. He knew his history of the Freedom Trail. Add Paul R stop to tour it was near where we ended.
Our guides are the best trained in the Business. Educators, storytellers, teachers and nice people go thru a vigorous training process. They give a tour full of facts and they bring in humor.
“Samuel Gray” was an excellent and interesting host and docent for our tour, with great storytelling skills and a wealth of new history and information. He was considerate and led our group with great skill. I would highly recommend this tour, and ask for “Samuel Gray!”
