Als cultuurdragers van de stad New Orleans zijn al onze gidsen actief betrokken bij deelname en/of optredens in verschillende producties en locaties die ons artistieke behoud van het BBIPOC-erfgoed van Louisiana tentoonstellen. We hebben een uniek perspectief dat dieper gaat dan wat er in boeken te vinden is (hoewel we ook grondige onderzoekers zijn), en we kijken ernaar uit om de rijke en gemengde culturen waaruit New Orleans bestaat te delen.

Leer de achtergrondverhalen van muzikale legendes zoals Moses Hogan, Mahalia Jackson, Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden en meer.
Bezoek de eigenlijke site waar Jazz werd geboren via West-Afrikaanse drumcirkels die sinds 1724 elke zondag worden gehouden. Ga op een van de weinige plaatsen in de VS staan waar tot slaaf gemaakte mensen massaal mochten samenkomen; waar ze trouwden, kerk hielden en handel dreven.
Betaal je respect bij het graf van de onbekende slaaf op het terrein van de St. Augustine's Church in Treme, de oudste zwarte wijk van het land.
Geniet van de geschiedenis die de basis vormt van de muziek, de keuken, de architectuur en de cultuur van New Orleans; het kan verrassend moeilijk te vinden zijn, en we zijn blij dat je bij ons terecht bent gekomen!

It can be really hot so bring cooling tools - ice water, umbrella, fan, cooling wrap, etc. It was very educational!
This was my first time taking a historical tour in New Orleans, and one thing I wanted was a guide who was from the community that she was representing, and a locally owned a small business, someone who respects the people and the culture and is willing to tell the truth, even if it makes people uncomfortable. Dartanya was all of those things, not only that, it was evident that she was deeply passionate about the storytelling, and connected to the people, places, and events. Highly recommend and plan to tour with her again.

Just got back from New Orleans. What an incredible story of Treme, New Orleans and the history of New Orleans back to the 1700's. LaToya was our guide. She is a great story teller. Do yourself a favor and take the tour. We also stopped in at the Backstreet Cultural Museum to see amazing Mardi Gras costumes and got food at Lil Dizzy's. All Good!!!

LaToya is an amazing story teller and keeper of Treme history. Love and exuberance for the neighborhood shows through. What a great way to round out the history of New Orleans. Do yourself a favor, visit an amazing neighborhood that IS New Orleans. Eat at Li’l Dizzy’s Cafe and visit Backstreet Cultural Museum for Mardi Gras history and costumes on display. All amazing, all worth the time.
