Je tour begint met vervoer van Krakau naar de Wieliczka stad waar een zoutmijn is. Ophalen met de bus van een vooraf bepaalde plaats (hotel of andere plaats die u kiest) op een bepaalde datum en tijd. Transport duurt ongeveer 30 minuten.
Als onderdeel van het bezoek ontvangt u een individueel toegangsbewijs voor de zoutmijn en een professionele taalsprekende gids. De gids is beschikbaar in een van de geselecteerde talen: Engels, Duits, Frans, Spaans, Italiaans, Russisch. Een bezoek aan de zoutmijn vindt plaats in groepen van maximaal 30 personen. Tijdens je tour ontvang je ook een koptelefoon. De mijn heeft 9 verdiepingen, ondergronds. Tijdens de rondleiding leer je over de geschiedenis van de zoutwinning in bepaalde historische perioden. Met een gids bezoekt u een doolhof van gangen en een complex van thematische kamers met tal van sculpturen, kapellen die in de rotsen zijn uitgehouwen en een ondergronds meer. Voel het unieke microklimaat van de mijn, dat ideaal is voor mensen die lijden aan astma en allergieën, en voel de voordelen voor uw gezondheid. Na het voltooien van de tour keer je terug met een lift naar de grond. Na de sightseeing keert u terug naar de parkeerplaats waar uw chauffeur op u wacht.
Wanneer je klaar bent met het verkennen van de zoutmijn en terugkeert naar de auto. De chauffeur brengt je naar een vooraf bepaalde plaats in Krakau naar je hotel of naar de oude stad, het belangrijkste plein (volgens je beslissing).

I recommend Cracow Top Tours for efficiency and price. I looked at a variety of tours when I was booking, and this was by far the best price offering hotel pick-up, but also had excellent reviews. In all the Krakow morning traffic, they picked me up spot on time. The drive to the salt mines was comfortable, and we parked near the entrance so that there was not far to walk (important when you do over 6,000 steps in the mines!). A party of six, we were given an official guide, and were able to by-pass the long queues of individual tourists. On completing the tour, we were given an hour for lunch or further sight-seeing, and left the assigned parking spot on time. Others in the party were dropped off in the central square, but I was returned to my hotel, as I wished. Even in Krakow Friday traffic, we managed to be on time for it all. I was kept well-informed by both the office, and Artur, it was definitely worth the effort.

Fantastic experience and our driver, Kacpero, was very friendly, humorous and informative. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. The salt mines were absolutely amazing, of course, but to have a knowledgeable and fun driver was the icing on the cake.
The Salt Mines is an absolute must see!! The steps down into the minec seen to go on forever (800) steps but everyone descending in an orderly manner so no stopping and starting. Guided tour guide was very informative, friendly and approachable. You go in groups of about 20 at a time. We never felt claustrophobic or anything, the mine is massive and extremely well preserved. We went in shorts and t shirts and it wasn't cold at all. Other reviews said it can get nippy at only 14 degrees throughout the year but we were fine. I took a cardigan in my bag but didn't wear it. There is a list back up at the end of the tour and overall I think it took about 2 hours but it flew over there is so much to see. You can book at the kiosk when you get there which we did so don't feel the need to pre-book through a third party operator ! We ordered a taxi though the ap Bolt and it cost us about £8.00 in GBP direct from our apartment in Krakow old town and booked through Bolt when we finished the tour. It is wheelchair and pram friendly as there is a separate entrance away from the main part but still accessible.

Booked a guided tour to Salt Mine at Krakow, Poland for family. Took approx 3 hours with short break where tourist shop & toilets were situated. Need to wear comfortable and good grip footwear as lots of steps to deal with in mine. Warm enough in Summer with temperature around 17oC inside mine. So my family didn't need jacket or jumper. Very busy in Summer so having booked ahead on guided tour allowed us to get right to the front of the que. Guide very good and knowledgeable. To return to surface have small lifts. Cost us just over £200 booked through Viator for 4 adults, hotel pick up and drop off. This was good after a lot of walking & to get back to hotel for freshen up & evening meal. So look at what your get for your booking. Cheaper may mean yiu do not get all above.
The Salt Mine was an interesting place to visit. It was great to hear about its history and it was truly a unique experience. The tour guide from the Salt Mine was sweet, friendly and added a few jokes to keep the tour lively. It moved at a good pace and does require a decent amount of walking. There is a bathroom break about an hour into the tour and there are places for people to sit along the way for those who need it, though you don’t stop for too long. She kept us a going, as it gets very crowded. The driver, Ivan, was friendly and cheerful and did a nice job of communicating with us about meeting points. Afterwards, he gave us some recommendations for places to eat and drink, so that was an added bonus. It’s worth a visit and booking through TripAdvisor worked well for us. . It was very convenient to be picked up and dropped off at your hotel, too.
