Ontmoet elkaar in Kailua bij de Active Oahu-winkel, waar het vriendelijke personeel u helpt met het laden van uw kajaks en uitrusting. Vanaf daar rijdt u een paar minuten naar Kailua Beach en parkeert u aan het einde van het eerste perceel bij de brug. Een klein deel van het water zal ondiep zijn voordat je verder over het strand naar de oceaan loopt. Kajakken naar het eiland Popoia is een gemakkelijke en plezierige ervaring en het duurt ongeveer 15 minuten om het kleine zandstrand te bereiken. Zorg ervoor dat u voor de korte wandeling rond het eiland enkele schoenen of sandalen meeneemt om uw voeten te beschermen tegen de scherpe lavastenen. Het eiland is een vogelreservaat voor de vele pijlstormvogels die je kunt zien. Als je klaar bent met het verkennen van Kailua Bay, ontmoet je ons weer bij de winkel waar we je zullen helpen met uitladen. Als u de route vroeg beëindigt, kunt u heerlijk ontspannen op het strand met de meegeleverde strandstoelen en parasols.

Begin uw tour hier bij de Active Oahu Tours Storefront. Een 4-deurs voertuig of vrachtwagen is vereist om uw kajaks te vervoeren. Het team zal u helpen uw spullen in uw voertuig te laden. Bewonder het kristalheldere water terwijl je door Kailua Bay kajakt. Geniet van een korte kajaktocht, ongeveer 20 minuten peddelen naar het eiland Popoia, loop er omheen en ontdek het te voet. Ervaar kajakken in je eigen tempo. Tijdens deze reis peddelt u door het Hawaïaanse leefgebied van de groene zeeschildpadden en wordt u beschermd door een barrièrerif dat zich over de gehele peddelroute uitstrekt.
Op het eiland Popoia zie je Hawaïaanse zeevogels met korte staart langs de kustlijn duiken. Het eiland is een broedgebied en zeevogelreservaat. Maak een wandeling rond het eiland en zwem in het koninginnenbad, een 2,5 meter diep getijdenzwembad. Maak een wandeling rond het eiland op het ruige terrein van het kleine koraaleiland.
Ontspan op het strand van het Kailua Beach-park met de meegeleverde strandstoelen en parasol of blijf peddelen rond Kailua Bay.

Our family of six rented three, two person kayaks. Excellent communication by email with staff . Great pricing. Helped us get all three kayaks secured to our rental car not to mention gave us all the needed equipment and more. They couldn’t have been nicer or friendlier. We paddled out to the. Kaneohe sandbar and snorkel along the reef where we saw tons of tropical fish and honu sea turtles.
Michael and the team were great! They made it super easy to pick up our kayak, and gave great instructions on where to launch and how to get to the sandbar. Highly recommend using Active Oahu for your kayak rental and guidance on where to kayak. Thanks for a fantastic experience!
Did a self guided kayak trip to the mokuluas Michael worked to make our trip great. Told us where to park, when to go, how to be safe, and answered questions when we ran into him on the islet. my partner got chased onto the beach by a monk seal and Michael caught it on video and sent it to our phone. Nice guy and real professional. Highly recommend.
It was really nice to pick up the Kayak and head to the launch on our own. I wish we had planned more time. You can keep it as long as you want. Just need to return before they close. Everything we needed was provided. The staff was very helpful with current water and wind conditions. Plus other helpful tips on where to go.
Nice fun experience, beautiful up close views of the water and you're not around so many people. Almost by yourself. Got to do the snorkeling to see some of the sea life for sure. You do use your vehicle to load and transfer the kayak just to make sure that is known.
Booked 2 kayaks, beach chairs and umbrellas for a day at the beach while visiting Oahu. This place is reasonably priced and the staff is super friendly. I can't remember the name of the gentleman who helped us out but he was super cool (he was a New Jersey native but that's about all I remember). He helped load the kayaks on the van roof and gave us some pointers of where to go. We rented the equipment for 1230 pm to 430 pm on 06/24/25. Kuddos to the young man who helped us out! Great experience and I highly recommend this establishment for equipment rentals.
Super fun! I went with my fiance and we had a blast, I will say I gave up half way through and he did most of the work ..tehe

You mount the kayak to your own car. We were a little nervous at first but it actually worked very well. It allowed us to be on our own timeline which we liked.
