Deze zelfgeleide audiotour vindt plaats in Montmartre.
Je stopt kort voor een kunstwerk genaamd "Mur des je t'aime", wat letterlijk Wall of I Love Yous betekent, maar in het algemeen Wall of Love wordt genoemd in het Engels en werd gemaakt in 2000 door Frederic Baron en Claire Kito. De tegels vertegenwoordigen 311 manieren om "I love you" te zeggen in 250 talen.
Er zijn geschreven verslagen van deze kerk die dateert uit het jaar 885, waardoor dit een van de oudste christelijke plaatsen in Parijs is.
Bezoek de werkplaats waar Picasso tussen 1904 en 1909 woonde, waar Modigliani hier ook woonde en werkte. Dat deden Renoir, Juan Gris, Max Jacob, le Douanier Rousseau en vele anderen die tegenwoordig niet zo beroemd zijn.

Deze prachtige windmolen is een van de slechts 2 over in Montmartre en gespecialiseerd in het malen van tarwe. Het is ook al lang een restaurant. Beroemde kunstenaars zoals Renoir, Van Gogh en Pissaro bezochten dit restaurant en schilderden het, waardoor het een icoon van Montmartre werd. Renoir's Bal au Moulin de la Galette toont niet de windmolen, alleen het feest dat plaatsvindt achter deze beroemde gevel. Van Gogh schilderde verschillende versies van deze windmolen omdat zijn broer Theo in de buurt woonde en hij het gebied goed kende.

Het tweede roze huis waar 'Maison Rose' staat, werd beroemd gemaakt door een lokale schilder met de naam Utrillo, waardoor het een van de meest iconische scènes van Montmartre is. Toen werd het gekocht door iemand die bevriend was met beroemde zangers en dus hebben ze het vaak bezocht. Zangers zoals Edith Piaf, Aznavour en Jacques Brel kwamen hier regelmatig. Voor hen was auteur Albert Camus ook een fan.
Vroeger had Parijs veel wijngaarden, dit is een van de weinige die over is. Het is zo klein dat één persoon voor het hele ding kan zorgen en het mooi kan houden voor alle bezoekers, gidsen, de burgemeester, tv-ploegen, enz.
De Lapin Agile opende voor het eerst als cabaret en drinkgelegenheid in 1795. Eerst heette het "Rendez-vous of Thieves", vervolgens "Cabaret of the Assassins" voordat karikaturist André Gill de opdracht kreeg om de plaats in 1880 nieuw te maken. en hij kwam met de konijntekening.

Het restaurant is een klassieker hier in Montmartre. De naam betekent eenvoudig en zonder ceremonie. Er is hier een restaurant sinds 1500, het is herbouwd en vele malen hernoemd. Moge schilders en dichters kwamen hier voor een drankje en een maaltijd. Degas, Renoir, Monet, Cézanne, Sisley, Toulouse-Lautrec, hebben dit restaurant allemaal bezocht. In 1886 schilderde Van Gogh hier zijn beroemde La Guinguette à Montmartre.

Fabulous tour of Montmartre! Annie’s tour will take you to the well known spots and the hidden gems. It was such a great way to explore the neighborhood for the first time. The stories and historical context were both informative and entertaining. If we hadn't done this tour, we would have missed out on a lot of interesting history. You will love listening to Annie, her voice is a pleasure to listen to. My husband and I shared a pair of earbuds and listened through my iPhone. Very easy to follow along, and you can pause the audio whenever you need to. Directions are easy to follow. I cannot recommend this tour enough!! We loved it.

This is a terrific way to see Montmartre and have the pleasure of Annie in our ear guiding us through those amazing sites. She is very clear in her directions, informative, knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to. The start point was easy to locate and each point of interest flowed from site to site. We set the pace, were able to rewind or stop the audio feed if necessary and the built in gps kept us on track. Montmartre! Such a fun place to wander in Paris. But in just wandering you would miss so much, so I am so glad that I had this tour. Voicemap tours are such a great way to learn more about what you are seeing without breaking the bank for a personal tour. You have flexibility in stopping and starting and I listened to them before going to have a little preview. I love the Join Us in France podcast, facebook group and Annie is a wealth of knowledge. Annie’s tours are well crafted, informative and easy to follow. Her instructions are precise and the content is enjoyable to listen to. It’s apparent she puts a lot of thought into her presentation. Voice maps makes it easy to start, stop or wander and then get back on track. Make sure your devices are charged or bring a battery pack.
