Maak kennis met het Nederlandse platteland tijdens deze 8-uur durende dagtocht met je gids door de dorpen Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam en Marken. Bewonder de beroemde windmolens van de Zaanse Schans terwijl je leert over hun betekenis voor de regio. Bezoek een klompenwerkplaats waar ze ons levend deze typische schoen gaan snijden. Neem de tijd om de indrukwekkende landschappen te fotograferen. Bezoek Edam, een Werelderfgoed en waarvan de oude binnenstad een van de mooiste van Nederland is. Genieten in een kaasmakerij, waar ze ons laten zien hoe kaas wordt gemaakt. Deze tour is inclusief een uitgebreide proeverij. Verdwaal tussen de opvallende houten huizen en een doolhof van smalle straatjes in Volendam, het voormalige vissersdorp. Geniet van wat vrije tijd om de lokale vis te proeven. De Volendamse kabeljauw en haring zijn heerlijk! Reis vervolgens naar het oude eiland Marken en geniet van het geweldige uitzicht om je heen. Deze historische plek is tot op de dag van vandaag goed bewaard gebleven. Eindelijk keren we terug naar Amsterdam.

Onze gids legt de geschiedenis en functie van de typisch Hollandse molens uit en bezoekt met u een traditionele houten klompenmakerij. Dan heb je vrije tijd om de molens te bezoeken en te fotograferen.
Na een wandeling door het centrum van de historische stad Edam met een bezoek aan de meest bekende monumenten en hoeken, gaan we naar een typische kaasfabriek waar ze ons zullen vertellen over het proces van het maken van kaas en zullen we genieten van een proeverij van verschillende soorten van kaas.
We zullen genieten van een rondleiding door de oude stad en de haven van Volendam. We hebben vrije tijd om rond te lopen en te eten in een van de restaurants.
Eenmaal aangekomen op het eilandje Marken, genieten we van een rondleiding vanuit de idyllische haven door de smalle straatjes voordat we terugkeren naar Amsterdam. Vanwege wegafsluitingen vindt het bezoek aan Marken niet plaats van 13 april tot 18 mei.

Really enjoyable trip to the countryside and to see the small villages. Really enjoyed the whole day!!
Well organized and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and she really enjoyed her job. The time allotted for each stop was sufficient for exploration. Good choice of places to visit while on the tour.
Unlike the many other day tours we’ve done (both in Europe and Asia), this was not a great use of time. It started with a very chaotic check in process (no guidance, just waiting for the bus for 15 min past the planned arrival followed by a mob of people going back and forth across a busy street as we tried to figure out what to do, how to get checked in, and which of 3 buses to board). This could have been solved with directions sent ahead of time as well as the guides actually arriving on time. Then, our particular guide gave almost no information about what to expect or rules for the day. This led at one point to her announcing someone was late coming back to the bus and would be left… yet, that expectation was never communicated up front and that poor person would just be stranded without any understanding. She also failed to share a contact number in case of any issues, which has been standard practice on every other tour I’ve taken. Finally, some of the “facts” she shared about Amsterdam contradicted what I’ve read in books and city museums, giving the impression she didn’t really know what she was talking about. Finally, the design of the day was quite poor. We didn’t go to Zaans first as stated in the itinerary but instead did that last and for 30 min less than the advertised itinerary. Meanwhile, we had far too much time at the lunch stop — 2 hours in an overpriced tourist trap!!! The cheese tasting we went to wasn’t very impressive and was in fact overpriced from what we saw the cheese sells for in Amsterdam. The other stops were nice to see but not worth the headache of the rest of the day. Overall, if we could do again - we would have simply taken public transportation to Zaans to be able to properly see the windmills. That part of the day was very impressive - the clog making demonstration was great as well! But there wasn’t enough time there, partly due to the poorly planned itinerary and partly due to our poorly trained guide. I think this may have been a failure of the providing tour company - chameleon. Oh and one other thing - you need euro coins to use the public bathrooms in the villages on this trip. This wasn’t share duo front and made for an uncomfortable portion of the day.
Our guide is knowledgeable and well prepared. She made us feel welcome and she managed time well, keep the group on track,

I am very angry about this trip. Although the ticket showed the pickup spot, and stated that you had to arrive by 9:45, and that the guide would be in green with a green umbrella, none of that was true. After frustrating delayed Uber issues getting there, we did arrive precisely at 9:45, I found the person with the green umbrella, and she said she was not related to the operator of this trip and had no idea of any other group tour. In addition, there was no sign whatsoever of a tour group, bus, or any other indications you had just been there. I missed the tour even though I complied with all the instructions. I was really looking forward to it, and am angry that the tour operator gave such bad instructions on the ticket.

Ana Maria was a ten-out-of-ten guide, with a very friendly personality and good vibes. She knew many things about the towns and answered all your questions with all kinds of detail. The only thing I would change is that I felt there was little time to visit each town. I recommend the food (battered cod!) and the ferry.

Some of the stops were beautiful to explore. Felt like the tour guide wasn't being transparent in what would be available and with a more accurate timeline. We were told we had to order from a specific restaurant beforehand, but when we got to the stop there were plenty of options to choose from. The bus was comfy.
