Yellowstone heeft dramatische canyons, bergrivieren, weelderige bossen, warmwaterbronnen en stromende geisers, waaronder de beroemdste, Old Faithful.
Firehole Canyon Drive is een eenrichtingsweg van 2 mijl van de Grand Loop ten zuiden van Madison. De rit heeft een waterval en een zwemgedeelte.
Langs de Fountain Paint Pot Trail zie je verschillende hydrothermische kenmerken die uitdrukkingen zijn van de nog steeds actieve vulkaan van Yellowstone. Binnen dit geologische systeem is elk type thermisch kenmerk vertegenwoordigd. Ze kunnen worden onderverdeeld in twee algemene categorieën: die met veel water (warmwaterbronnen en geisers) en die met weinig water (modderpotten en fumarolen). Ondanks hun structurele overeenkomsten, zijn geen twee functies precies hetzelfde.
Grand Prismatic Spring bevindt zich in het Midway Geyser Basin. Het onderscheidt zich als de grootste warmwaterbron van het park. Het meet ongeveer 370 voet (112,8 m) in diameter en is meer dan 121 voet (37 m) diep. Een beschrijving van deze lente door pelsjager Osborne Russell in 1839 maakt het ook het vroegst beschreven thermische kenmerk in Yellowstone dat zeker herkenbaar is.
Old Faithful ligt in het Upper Geyser Basin van Yellowstone in het zuidwesten van het park. Het uitkijkpunt voor de geiser is het meest toegankelijk en bezoekersvriendelijk in het park met zitbanken, een grote parkeerplaats en een rangerstation dat de tijd, hoogte en lengte van een uitbarsting volgt om de volgende uitbarsting te voorspellen.
Hayden Valley is een grote, subalpiene vallei in het Yellowstone National Park aan weerszijden van de Yellowstone River tussen Yellowstone Falls en Yellowstone Lake. De vallei langs de rivier is een oude meerbedding uit een tijd dat Yellowstone Lake veel groter was. Tijdens de rit door Hayden Valley krijgt u de kans om bizons, elanden, wolven, grizzlyberen, rivierotters en vele andere dieren te zien.
De Grand Canyon van de Yellowstone River drukt de complexe geologische geschiedenis van het park uit in dramatische kleuren en vormen. Rookwolken markeren hydrothermische kenmerken in de wanden van de kloof. De Upper en Lower Falls van de Yellowstone River dragen bij aan de grandeur van de unieke natuurlijke schat. Ervaar de kloof vanaf verschillende uitkijkpunten, op verschillende tijdstippen van de dag en in verschillende seizoenen. Een aantal paden en loopbruggen slingeren langs de randen en halverwege de kloof in.
De Artists' Paintpots Trail, een lollylus van 1,1 mijl, biedt een kans om enkele van de beroemdste functies van Yellowstone in korte tijd te zien. Het pad beslaat een mengsel van vuil en promenade met 125 voet hoogteverschil.

Jack, at Casanova Tours was our private tour guide for the four of us. We had not been to Yellowstone before. Jack was amazing and fun with his great knowledge and first-hand experience. Excellent tour of the Lower Yellowstone Loop yesterday with Alex. She was great!!! Very knowledgeable of park history and quickly became part of our travel pack. Though we didn't get to see any bears or wolves, she provided us with some good insights where to look for them our next time out. It was all memorable! It was our first sighting of Bison! Also waterfalls, thermal features. Brian very laid back, but got us bathrooms, and a tea/coffee break as requested, & lunch beside Yellowstone lake. Plenty of GF snacks for me! On time. Would recommend.
