Begin uw ervaring met het verkennen van Patagonië zodra uw cruiseschip aanmeert in Puerto Madryn. Ontmoet ons en stap aan boord van een comfortabel-modern voertuig. Geniet van een korte rondleiding door de stad om meer te weten te komen over de geschiedenis terwijl u naar de Penguin Colony gaat.
Onze eerste stop is de replica van de Patagotitan Mayorum, de grootste dinosaurus ter wereld die tot nu toe is ontdekt. We zullen alles te weten komen over het verleden, toen dinosaurussen heersten over deze regio. We zullen van deze stop gebruik maken om wat foto's te maken voordat we weer op pad gaan, richting het zuiden.
Begin het avontuur onder begeleiding van een gids die ons zal helpen de omgeving te interpreteren. Houd een oogje in het zeil, vooral wanneer je over een kale grindweg rijdt, het reservaat omvat unieke soorten zoals Guanacos (Lamas), Patagonia Rabbit, Kleine Rhea, Grijze Wolf, onder anderen.
Punta Tombo is een van de meest schilderachtige reservaten in de provincie Chubut, het mengen van de diepblauwe zee met de rode vulkanische rotsen van de Jura. Daar zullen we ons onderdompelen in de wereld van Magelhaense Pinguïns langs een 3 kilometer lange route (rondreis) om ze te observeren en tussen hen te wandelen. Als de natuur het toelaat en we aandachtig blijven voor het landschap, kunnen we prachtige Patagonische soorten spotten zoals Guanacos, Kleine Rheas (Choiques), Maras en Elegante Kuif Tinamous (Martinetas), onder anderen. Na het voltooien van de trail heb je vrije tijd om te lunchen bij 'DeliStore' of te picknicken als je je eigen lunch of snacks hebt meegenomen. Terwijl we over de grindwegen reizen, gaat de safari verder over land, u kunt worden bewonderd door guanaco's die het Patagonische landschap doorkruisen. Na een dag vol natuur in zijn puurste vorm keer je terug naar Puerto Madryn en laat je je op tijd voor de pier afzetten.

Punta Tombo Reserve is a very fabulous place. Our guide Mariano was excellent and highly recommend him. After visiting Volunteer Point in the Falklands, we had low expectations for this tour, however the sheer beauty of the reserve, the ability to watch the penguins up close was amazing. Also we were able to see them play and fish in the water. Other local animals and birds were also plentiful in the reserve. We were on a cruise ship, we were able to beat the numerous shore excursion buses and vans and had a very relaxed uncrowded experience

We did this from a cruise ship and the communication was great with the tour operator (Dos Oceanos). Tour guide was easy to find at the end of the dock. The guide was very conscious about making sure we were back in time for the ship departure. The 2.5 hour drive (each way) was worth it. There were lots of penguins to see - they are everywhere. We also saw baby guanacos.

This was a wonderful trip to see the penguins. It was much better to take this tour than the one offered by the cruise line. Much quicker to get there. We basically had a private tour. Not sure if that is always the case. Our guide was terrific.

Great experience, I would recommend going on this trip in December when more penguin are still there. We went on March 9, 2025 and most of the penguins were gone. Our driver was awesome and he gave use alot of Information about everything of the area.

Great tour to see penguins. Tour guide was great also. Only downside is that we waited for over an hour for 2 people that never came, so we had 1 less hour with the penguins. Taking into account that we only had 2 hours to see penguins, 1 hour would make a big difference. They could have a better system for people who do not show. But the tour itself was awesome.

Our guide was waiting for us at the end of the pier. We thought we might be part of a small group but we’re delighted to discover it was just the two of us. The car was functional rather than luxurious bit we got to Punta Tombo ahead of the coach crowds which was a huge bonus. Our guide was knowledgable and fun. We had a great trip and saw thousands of penguins. At our request he dropped us back in town so we could explore before boarding the ship in plenty of time before we set sail. It’s a two hour drive across barren land to the nature reserve but worth it to be so close to the penguins and to learn all about them.
