Château Lanessan ligt in de Gironde, in de stad Cussac-Fort-Médoc, en is een gebouw in Tudor-stijl uit het einde van de 19e eeuw, ontworpen door architect Duphot. De camping is opmerkelijk vanwege het enorme park dat zich uitstrekt over acht hectare en destijds ideaal was voor wandelingen of paardrijtochten. Dit ticket geeft je toegang tot het park van het Château en het Paardenmuseum, maar biedt je ook een ervaring door middel van wijnproeverijen en een bezoek aan de kelders. Met dit ticket heb je toegang tot Château Lanessan en zijn romantische Franse tuin. Ontdek tijdens het verkennen van het Paardenmuseum de faciliteiten gewijd aan paarden (stallen, zadelmakerijen, koetsen). Laat u begeleiden naar de wijngaarden, wijnkelders en vatenkelders van de accommodatie om uw kennis van het maken van wijn te verrijken. U krijgt de kans om de wijn van het jaar rechtstreeks van het vat te proeven! Een meeslepende ervaring in de plaats van de keldermeester van het pand. This chateau clearly lacks financial power and investment - it shows… The premises aren’t well kept and the low budget tour is for the right reasons cheap. There are tons of better chateaux to visit.
Even if the visit of the castle itself is not possible, the discovery of the surroundings is well worth a visit. This moment was enriched by a passionate guide, very kind, who knew how to make family history alive and accessible. His passion for oenology is reflected in every word, making the tasting not only enjoyable, but also instructive. A real moment of sharing, sincere and friendly, which gives another dimension to the visit.

Very well received by Valerie, we opted for lack of time for the option winery visit and tasting only (8€). Valerie puts a lot of passion into her visit and gives a lot of explanations. The site is very nice of course a bit "dead". Too bad there are no more horses or horse-drawn carriage activities. The estate has recently been bought 70% by Australian wine specialists. To see how this area develops.
