What an absolute fantastic adventure we had Mauritius Tours Taylor made the day just for our needs we had nature - thrills - culture and natural beauty. Jenny was the perfect Tour guide she is a fountain of knowledge and really is passionate about her country and giving clients the best experience ever we started at a hidden gem of a cave which required a little skill to access but Jenny made sure we were always safe . Then onto a private Beach with film like sand and waves so romantic and then we went to a local restaurant for lunch really getting to eat authentic Mauritian food with the locals and Jenny made sure I was able to eat it as I have allergies. From there we went on a little trek along the coast to the most amazing rock pool which was just breath taking !! And then to end the day we had another little trek to a awesome waterfall Jenny also brought her little halter Roxy who was just adorable and a very good hiker all in all a spectacular day reasonably priced and something away from the normal tours and very personal !!

Our contact with Jenny was first class and our excitement for our trip started here. From this point we felt invested in. I cannot recommend highly enough the Wild South Mauritius tour. From entering secret caves, swimming at deserted beaches, scenic clifftop coastal hikes to a secluded rockpool where you can enter the pool and where the Indian ocean waves frame the background, lunch in a traditional Mauritian cafe and a delightful hidden waterfall for a final swim of the day. The day was; action packed, adrenaline-fuelled and experience after experience. Lead by Jay this was by far the highlight of our holiday. This trip pushed me continually out of my comfort zone as i tried new experiences and with Jay's kindness and reassurance I had the most fantastic day. Should we be lucky enough to return to Mauritius, our first 'go to' for trips off the traditional tourist path will be with Jay, Jenny and of course Roxy, the hiking dog. We were picked up by Jay from our Hotel in the East of the Island. Jay took fantastic pictures at various places to give us lasting memories of our experiences. Like many visitors to the island we were overwhelmed with who to book a trip with. If you are a solo traveller, couple or small group, rest assured, if you want a trip to remember where it feels like you are out with a friend and not a stranger, you need not look any further than Mauritius Tours.

After a North of Island taxi tour which left us a bit underwhelmed (it was nice but didn't have the wow factor) we opted to do something a bit different for the South of the Island... those lovely people at Mauritius Tours managed to fit us in for a next day tour of 'secret' locations. Jay kindly collected us from our Belle Mare hotel and whisked us down to an unspoilt, spotlessly clean, deserted beach, which we had to ourselves, no reef, proper waves and warm water to swim in. From there we went on to a hidden cave... the stuff of Treasure Island & boys own adventure stories. A spot of lunch later (at a proper Mauritian restaurant eating amongst the locals) we moved on to an amazing idyllic rock pool, where we could bathe, whilst the Indian Ocean broke huge waves over the rocks just a few yards behind us... for one of those life-memory photo opportunities. Having been out since breakfast we then travelled on to a little-known waterfall, eager to catch it in all its glory before sunset. A final, crowd-free swim opportunity of the day in a beautiful clear pool with the waterfall cascading beside us, before being transported back to our hotel for what turned out to be an 11 hour day trip. I defy any other company to provide so much unique wow factor in a single day, for what was a reasonable price, all conducted by qualified, insured, supremely knowledgeable guides. So what can I say! We were worried about the weather, the experience, if we could cope, if it was value for money. It was 100% worth all of it. Jenny, Jay & Roxy were amazing, understanding, helpful, reassuring and made the day of our holiday. It was more than we ever expected or hoped for and if we hired a car we would never have found any of the places we were taken to. We also witnessed first hand other tour guides in the area that looked unsafe and probably unqualified. Jenny and Jay helped us and our kids, reassured us and made our initial nerves disappear within the first 30 mins. Honestly the best experience and our Mauritius would not have been the same without them. Obviously Roxy (Their rescue dog) stole the show, but that’s understandable as she is amazing and we also met her friends along the way. I never usually leave reviews but i honestly felt I needed to after our experience we had to tell people that this is the company to use when you want to see the hidden gems away from the tourist traps. We only regret we could not fit in another excursion!

Everything was explained clearly before we even left the UK, and the team kept in touch before each trip to make sure everything was arranged perfectly and that we would get the best possible experience. That personal touch really made a difference. We got to experience the island beyond the usual tourist spots. The original Wild South tour - others have tried to imitate the tour but they are not as researched and prepared as these guys. From the moment we were picked up, to when we were dropped off, the whole trip was amazing and well planned. Jay was a fabulous guide and personalises the trip to your abilities. He helped my teenage daughter, who was a little unsteady on her feet at times, to navigate all the terrains. They fully research tides and weather, and make sure you are fully prepared to ensure you get the best possible experience and photo opportunities. We had a fantastic adventure and fully recommend.

Fantastic guides who showed us the best spots and gave us genuine insight into local life and culture. Having their dog Roxy join our group (by our request!) made it extra special for the children. Brilliant service, warm hospitality, and memories for a lifetime. my 7 year old said it was "the best life ever." Also a huge plus that they care for environment and animals. Highly recommended!

I would recommend a tour with Mauritius Tours if you are visiting this paradise island. We had a day out with Jay and had the best time. The tour was to places that you wouldn’t find without the help of an experienced guide. We visited a secluded beach and had a swim in the sea there, explored a cave that you would never stumble across if you were out exploring on your own. We swam in an ocean side pool that had waves crashing in to it as well as a pool under a waterfall, there was also the opportunity in the day to stand under two waterfalls and experience the power of the water cascading down on to you. This tour was one of the best that we have been on. If you want tour with lots of other people and to come across other tour groups doing the same thing when you are out then sign up with the masses, if you want a tour that is more personal then pay a little bit more and sign up with Mauritius Tours you won’t be disappointed with the day, we hardly saw anyone else when we were out visiting the sites with them.

We booked the Wild South Tour after seeing a review by Just Kris on Facebook. It was an early start but was worth it!!! We picked up Jay at 7am and he took over the driving and off we went. At the cave I struggled with the climbing along slippery rocks so Jay found a different route for me and then through the rest of the trip showed me exactly how and where to put my feet - even at times held my hand to make me feel safer - I honestly can’t thank him enough. The first waterfall was beautiful a couple of photos taken there before we left we bought (and paid 200 MUR) for fresh coconut. Off on the next drive to our own secluded 🏖️ beach first swim opportunity - though Jay does warn you about the currents, but it was fun. Lunch was great - I had the noodles delicious. We went to the stunning rock pool - this was challenging for me but Jay directs you well to keep you safe - and it’s something I’ll never forgot - relaxing in the volcano rock pool with waves crashing all around you. Spotting lots of crabs and rock hoppers, sea urchins and we even saw an octopus hiding too then Jay says stand still … I’m not going to ruin it - do the tour and find out!!! Our last stop was an awesome waterfall and pool again all to ourselves. We have done lots of tours on our holiday but this one is a private off the beaten path with honestly no other tourists to ruin a gorgeous photo moment!! You have to do it!! Jay and Jenny were so helpful in all parts of organising of this tour.

We had an absolutely incredible day with Jay! From start to finish, it was a full day packed with adventure, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable experiences. We explored a hidden sea cave, visited the beautiful Rochester Falls, hiked through stunning coastal trails to secluded rock pools, swam at a secret beach, and finished the day with a delicious local lunch. We tried the chicken fried noodles, and they were absolutely delicious! What really made this tour stand out was Jay. We were travelling with our 4-year-old son, and Jay went above and beyond to make sure our family could safely enjoy every part of the adventure. He arranged a life jacket for him, provided a child carrier for the steep hiking sections, and was always attentive without taking away from the fun. Safety was clearly his top priority, and he never compromised when it came to ensuring we were comfortable and secure. Jay was knowledgeable, professional, patient, and genuinely passionate about sharing the hidden gems of Mauritius. Thanks to him, we experienced places we never would have found on our own.
