Meestal rijden we de Douro Vallei binnen via het charmante stadje Sabrosa, een plaats rijk aan geschiedenis en karakter. Het markeert het begin van wat vaak wordt beschouwd als het meest adembenemende stuk van de hele vallei – waar het landschap echt begint te betoveren.
Onze eerste stop is bij een prestigieus familiebedrijf, waar u hartelijk wordt verwelkomd door een echte wijn Expert. Met diepe kennis en passie Gids ze je door de rijke tradities van de Douro wijnbereiding. Het bezoek culmineert in een prachtig samengestelde proeverij van hun beste wijnen – een ervaring ontworpen om uw zintuigen te prikkelen en uw waardering voor deze opmerkelijke regio te verdiepen.
Een heerlijke boottocht van een uur door de prachtige Dourovallei, glijdend langs de oevers in de buurt van de iconische N222 weg. Aan boord worden gasten getrakteerd op regionale snacks en een verfrissend drankje, waardoor de ervaring zowel schilderachtig als ontspannend is.
Ons tweede wijnhuisbezoek biedt niet alleen een warm welkom en een adembenemende omgeving, maar ook een echt onvergetelijke culinaire ervaring. Hier geniet u van een heerlijke driegangenlunch, zorgvuldig gecombineerd met drie uitzonderlijke Douro-wijnen. Elke wijn wordt zorgvuldig geselecteerd om de smaken van de maaltijd aan te vullen, waardoor een perfecte harmonie ontstaat tussen de lokale keuken en de rijke wijntraditie van de regio.

Great experience with this day trip to Douro Valley. Our guide, José, drive us to 3 different destinations: a river cruise with little snacks and a port tonic, then an organic winery where we had a fantastic lunch, and finally a stop at a historic winery in Pinhao where we had a funny hostess who served us wines and port. Everything was friendly, professional. Highly recommend
It was a very hot day but the van had air conditioning and the winery we had lunch at had misters as well. Bruno, our guide was friendly and so knowledgeable. The lunch was traditional and delicious. I would highly recommend this tour.
What a great day trip!! You get exactly what this experience offers. We had a lot of fun traveling to the Douro Valley to visit wineries, taste wine, and eat delicious food. João was a fantastic guide who answered all of our questions and shared so many fun facts. It was well worth the money, and the lunch was our favorite part!
Dress for warm weather. Lots of wine and food and good conversation. Full of information of the region amd very relaxing.
This was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. First off, our guide Bruno was amazing. He thought of every detail to make the day flawless. The wineries we stopped at were run by local families and the staff were so hospitable and kind. Plus, since they were small wineries, we got the place to ourselves and really got to learn about the vineyards. We enjoyed an incredible lunch at the second winery and it felt like we were guests at the host’s home. The food and wine pairings at both stops were fantastic and we felt like we tried a really nice range of wines. And the boat ride was so relaxing and fun. This day was an incredible experience and a MUST DO if you are headed to the Duoro Valley!!
This tour to Douro Valley is everything my husband and I had hoped for: education about the Douro Valley: information about wine growth and of course… the wines. A great day with Louis. Thank you for wonderful wine and food!
This experience was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Joao was personable and very knowledgable about the Duoro Valley region. The 2 wineries we stopped at for tastings had a nice variety of very good wines. The boat ride was amazing and lunch at the second winery was authentic Portuguese with wine pairings for each course. Highly recommend and well worth the cost.
We had an amazing experience. Our guide, João (I hope I am spelling correctly!) was simply amazing - kind, funny, full of knowledge and fun facts! He made the experience so enjoyable and he was very accommodating. All of the wineries we went to were beautiful and had delicious wines. We especially enjoyed the lunch spot (João joined us for lunch which was a highlight!) and the boat tour of the river! Would recommend as a MUST DO when you come to Porto. Our parents did this exact tour 3 years ago and loved it so much they told us we had to do it, and it lived up to the hype!
