De conische hoed wordt altijd geassocieerd met het spirituele leven van het Vietnamese volk. De afbeelding van conische hoeden is altijd aanwezig in het hele land Vietnam. Het is de schoonheid, charme, idyllisch en rustiek van de Vietnamese bevolking. De voorgangerafbeelding van de kegelvormige hoed verscheen rond 2500 – 3000 v.Chr. Heb je je ooit afgevraagd hoe conische hoeden worden gemaakt? Sluit je aan bij het Vietnam Traditional Villages team om het hoedendorp in Hanoi te ontdekken en ervaar het proces van het maken van conische hoeden – een van de typische symbolen van Vietnam! We bezoeken dit dorp, ontmoeten de ambachtelijke lokale ambachtslieden en leren hoe het product te maken. Versier de Vietnamese traditionele hoeden door ze naar eigen wens te beschilderen
Hoewel Quang Phu Cau wierookdorp al meer dan honderd jaar bestaat, bestaat deze plek tot op heden nog steeds en wordt het een van de bijzondere schoonheden die de cultuur van het platteland in de Noordelijke Delta duidelijk uitbeeldt. Komend naar Quang Phu Cau wierookdorp, kunt u niet alleen bezoeken en luisteren naar verhalen over wierook maken, maar ook de mogelijkheid hebben om in te checken met de opvallende "gigantische bloemen". Pak je koffer en sluit je aan bij Vietnam Traditional Villages om Quang Phu Cau Wierookdorp te ontdekken! We bezoeken het dorp, hebben tijd voor het maken van wat foto's in de mooie en kleurrijke scene van het dorp. Daarna bezoeken we de fabriek waar u ziet hoe de lokale bevolking de wierookstokjes produceert. Daarna terug naar het stadscentrum. Optioneel om afgezet te worden bij de treinstraat dan bezoek je en later terug naar hotel op eigen gelegenheid. Als je al in de treinstraat bent geweest, blijf dan gewoon op de bus dan zetten we ons weer af bij hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter.
Vervolgens reis naar Ha Thai dorp, bekend om zijn lakwerk productie sinds de 17e eeuw. Maak kennis met een gevierde lokale ambachtsman die u kennis laat maken met deze traditionele kunstvorm. Onder hun deskundige begeleiding krijg je de kans om je eigen 1 van de belangrijkste processen te doen om een schilderij lakkunstproduct te maken.
Uw reis eindigt met een terugkeer naar Hanoi, met de optie om te worden afgezet bij de beroemde Train Street of een andere drop-off terug naar ontmoetingspunt bij uw selectie.

Great half day tour to Incense & Conical hat making experience. Mr David is very informative and entertaining. Eager to explain Vietnamese culture and answer questions. Great drive out of Hanoi with a very safe driver into the villages. Enjoyed the half day tour.

Anna, our tour guide was great. She has high energy, is witty, fun and informative. The incense tour and the conical hat tour were both fun and very interesting. We were so glad we decided to book this tour!
Great half day! Think about what you might want to paint on your hat, and watch your clothes with the paint (lacquer). Not a long time to paint your hat. You can keep what you paint. Incense village was very interesting too. The displays are nice, though smaller than I expected, but still photogenic. It was raining for all of the visit, but we were still able to see, and photograph. The displays are there for the tourists and have no incense on, just the coloured stick. They are not out to dry, and are there all the time, so even if raining, you can still see them and get photos. A great day. Danny was a great guide, and kept us supplied with water.
I had a great experience going to all 3 villages on this tour. Starting with the lacquer village - a glimpse into just how much goes into the art that is made with the lacquer process - you get the option to buy the piece that you tried out or an already finished product - which I opted for, given how much time and concentration goes into the work. Then we moved onto the incense village - looking first at the displays (for the aesthetics) then a small insight into the process that they show tourists (as the real process is far more efficient and effective) from checking the quality of the stick, to then coating in a protective oil, then dipping into the proprietary colour blend (red or pink - the national colour and the colour of the national flower), that dries (takes 1 day) then onto the incense paste being applied and allowing that to dry (another day) to end up with the finished product. Last stop was the conical hats - the bamboo frame, the layer of bamboo leaves, then another type of leaf (the name escapes me..) which is the waterproofing layer then another layer of bamboo, stitching it together and then painting (for decorative ones). A big shout out to our guide Danny, he was helpful, attentive and just an all rounder that I would happily have as my guide again on any tour. Highly recommend.
Excellent trip with very helpful guide Son (Sun?). Knowledgeable and friendly with excellent command of English. Enjoyed all the stops….especially the lawyer village s as and hat making stop . Food here was really excellent!!
This was an amazing experience! You will not regret it! Kind and genuine tour guide. He was very patient and gave us a good demo of how the conic vietnamese hat is made. The best part for me was the incense village. So beautiful! You will go home with intagram perfect photos!! And very well priced. I did the half day tour with no lunch. No regrets at all.
