Laat je overal in Dublin van je accommodatie ophalen. We beginnen de dag met het nemen van de kustweg naar het zuiden vanuit Dublin via de haven van Dun Laoghaire en vervolgens via Sandycove, de thuisbasis van de James Joyce Martello-toren en het museum dat open is voor het publiek.
Daarna door het pittoreske dorpje Dalkey en de Vico Road, de thuishaven van vele beroemdheden zoals Bono, Enya en Van Morrison om er maar een paar te noemen.
We komen vervolgens in County Wicklow, de "Garden of Ireland". Onze eerste stop is het prachtige Powerscourt Estate, bekend om zijn huis en tuinen. Powerscourt House werd door National Geographic verkozen in de top 10 van huizen en de tuinen werden door National Geographic in de top 3-tuinen gestemd. Het landgoed is momenteel eigendom van de iconische Slazenger-familie en dateert uit de 13e eeuw. In 1974 werd het huis gestript door een brand. In 1996 werd het gedeeltelijk in zijn oorspronkelijke glorie hersteld en is nu open voor het publiek samen met de adembenemende tuinen. Het wordt erkend als een van de beste plekken van Ierland om te bezoeken.
Wij bieden u de vrijheid om onze voorgestelde route aan te passen aan uw behoeften en tijdsbeperkingen ... Omdat dit een privétour is, heb je de mogelijkheid andere delen van Wicklow te bezoeken, zoals de Powerscourt-waterval. Het Powerscourt Waterfall ligt aan de voet van het Wicklow-gebergte en is de hoogste van Ierland op 121 meter afstand. Het ligt op 5 km van Powerscourt Estate and Gardens. Er is volop natuur om van te genieten bij de waterval, waaronder vogels zoals de Vink, Koekoek, Raaf en de Willow Warbler en de Sika Deer. Je kunt zelfs een rode eekhoorn of twee zien.
Van daaruit rijden we door de glooiende heuvels en valleien van Wicklow naar Glendalough's "Valley of 2 Lakes", de thuisbasis van St. Kevin. In de lagere glen vindt u de oude monastieke stad die is gebouwd door de volgelingen van St. Kevin en de overblijfselen van de kathedraal, de ronde toren en de kerk van St. Kevin, evenals het kerkhof en verschillende woningen.
We rijden terug naar Dublin via de Military Road door de Wicklow en Dublin Mountains. Als u door het moerasland gaat, bekend als de verenbedden, ziet u Loch Dan en Loch Tay en het beroemde landgoed Guinness.
We eindigen de dag op de top van Dublin Mountains bij Johnnie Fox's Pub, de hoogste pub van Ierland waar je kunt genieten van een frisse pint Guinness!

Kieron is a very patient guide and safe driver. He provides insights to the places we visit and we gains a better understanding through his sharing. Johnnie Fox's pub and seafood restaurant has a very unique and distinctive design and layout. Food served is tasty too.

Kieron provided an amazing tour, not only making sure to show us the must-see tourist locations, but also customizing our tour per our personal requests. A big highlight of the tour was a final meal and drinks at Johnny Fox’s, the highest pub in Ireland…delicious!!!

Unfortunately our tour didn’t start off great. No one was there to collect us, so I called the company who said he was already there, once I went and asked all the guides waiting, I found Timothy but he’d been given the wrong name. He was very informative and we had a great day but the fact that his hearing aids (Which I also wear) were broken and he wasn’t going to replace them, made it very difficult, as he couldn’t hear any of our questions.

Fantastic day exploring the Wicklow area, plenty to see and do. Visited the fabulous Powercourt Gardens, Waterfall, Ancient Monestry ruins and lunch at the Heather Restaurant which was fabulous

We requested a van for 5 and an eight hour scenic drive through mid- Ireland. What we received was a friend forever and the most genuine human touch, you could ever imagine. We spent the day yesterday touring the Wicklow Mountains Glendalough and Powerscourt. Our tour guide William was a great guide with a great deal of local knowledge. He was good at allowing us plenty of time to explore at each stop. He picked the perfect spot for lunch that was a fantastic local restaurant. All in all a fun day

I could not have been happier with this tour or with Bobby our guide. Bobby was so sweet, so engaging and so accommodating, everything you would hope he would be. We went on the tour with our 2 boys and got to see so much in 7 hours but never felt rushed or like we were in the car forever (we had recently done a private day tour in Scotland and it was nothing close to this and a bit painful towards the end). Saw so many gorgeous spots and had the perfect day. The only disappointment was we didn't book Bobby for more trips!

Glendalough was striking. Cliff was a knowledgeable & courteous driver. The Powerscourt gardens were memorably lush. the waterfall is worth the trip on itsown.
