Als u aan boord van het luxe passagiersbusje stapt, wordt u meteen behandeld als een beroemdheid. Lederen stoelen en een comfortabele rit wachten op u. Terwijl we andere gasten in de stad ophalen, krijgt u een minirondleiding door de stad of bekijkt u een film over andere plantages om u voor te bereiden op uw rondleiding. Terwijl u in het busje zit, moet u erop voorbereid zijn dat de chauffeur u zal vermaken! Je zult niet alleen maar in stilte zitten.

Hier breng je ongeveer 2,5 uur door op het plantageterrein en verken je een nationaal historisch monument. Ga achter de schermen en leer de echte verhalen over het leven op de plantages kennen. Whitney vertelt het verhaal van het leven door de ogen van de tot slaaf gemaakte mensen die daar woonden en werkten. Het bevat ook de geschiedenis van de vroege eigenaren, de familie Haydel.
Laura is een Frans-Creoolse plantage die werd gerund door vier generaties Frans-Creoolse vrouwen.
St. Joseph Plantation was een huwelijksgeschenk van haar vader Valcour, een van de rijkste mannen van zijn tijd.
Deze historische plek is gewijd aan het behoud en de interpretatie van de geschiedenis die de inwoners hebben achtergelaten. Met de nadruk op zijn tijd als werkende suikerrietplantage en bekijk de iconische Allee van eikenbomen.
Om de dag af te sluiten, maakt u een rit van 45 minuten terug naar de stad over de Bonnet Carre Spillway Bridge met uitzicht op Lake Pontchartrain voordat u terugkeert naar uw hotel.

Amazing! Kin was an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable and very nice. Kin definitely helped me to learn more about the culture of not only the Whitney plantation but also New Orleans. Being that this was my first time, he provided a great experience and definitely a place I see myself coming back too. Kin is a world-class entertainer and host who will make the trip out and back fly by. The guides at the plantation are amazing as well, with a deep education on the history of the area and the lineages that came through Whitney. We were able to hear several stories direct from people that lived on or had family on the plantation- truly a look back into the history and the life of slaves in the south. A needed history lesson for the fully history of this unique area.

We did the Whitney Plantation Tour through Kendall Faulk. As the owner and driver, he took excellent care of us, keeping us informed and entertained on our entire journey. We covered all ranges of topics. The visit at Whitney Plantation itself was excellent. Highly recommend you do this tour if you wish to hear about the history of slavery from the perspective of slaves and to hear the history based on the research done of those that lived on the plantation. Excellent tour, money well spent.
Such a great day!! Transportation and tour of the Whitney Plantation from New Orleans. Personalised pick ups. A small group of us driven with great care in a spotlessly clean mini van. Comfy journey and a bottle of water included. Knowledgeable narrative by Kin (assisted by a little microphone for clarity) throughout the journey explaining the area and local history focusing on the background to the Planatation era and the exploitation of people of colour forced into a lifetime of slavery. A short video film related to the Plantations played in the vehicle as we returned to make the journey appear shorter! Kin obviously works so very hard to make his business the absolute best, proving excellent service with clear and courteous directives throughout. We were taken care of very well. This Plantation tour will not disappoint and the day is made exceptional by the wonderful service Kin provides.
We took the Whitney Plantation tour with transportation included, and a huge part of what made the experience memorable was our guide, Kin. He was incredibly knowledgeable, a safe driver, and full of fascinating information and stories about New Orleans, Louisiana, and the historic properties we visited. Kin was exceptionally organized and communicated clearly throughout the day regarding pick-up times, drop-offs, and departure schedules from each plantation. Beyond his professionalism, he was genuinely funny and made the group feel welcome by taking the time to learn everyone's name and hear a bit of their story. He also shared honest recommendations for local food spots, which we greatly appreciated. Kin is a wonderful ambassador for New Orleans and its culture, and we would not hesitate to book another tour with him in the future. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience!! Kin is an exceptional travel guide and driver, a NOLA local who knows his home .....with some of the best food and activity recommendations too!! The Whitney Planation was the best tour choice for our group; Dominque, our tour guide at Whitney, was FANTASTIC at telling the stories of her ancestors. My family of 8 are still sharing this wonderful experience with our extended family and friends. Loved that Kin also promised my 2 year old (more like 7) grand-daughter that she would also see an alligator. And she/we did! The stop for ice cream and sandwiches too on the way back to downtown was an additional welcomed treat. Thank You Kindrell!!!
