Breng drie uur door met genieten van Whitby op onze vriendelijke, begeleide dagtocht met gids vanuit York, en verken het schilderachtige en pittoreske North York Moors National Park. Tijdens deze reis heb je drie uur vrije tijd in de vissershaven van Whitby, om Whitby Abbey te zien (inspiratie voor de Dracula-boeken), bezoek de Captain Cook Attracties, shop wat Whitby Jet of Gothic Fashion, proef Fish & Chips van het beroemde Magpie Café of gewoon genieten van de bruisende haven en de waterkant - de keuze is aan u! Naast fotostops op de heidevelden, stop je ook bij het beroemde Kilburn White Horse, het marktstadje Helmsley (met zijn leuke cafés, winkels en middeleeuws kasteel) en de prachtige, traditionele Engelse dorpen Goathland (Heartbeat en Harry Potter filmlocatie) en Lealholm (met zijn stapstenen over de rivier de Esk). Geniet van persoonlijke aandacht van je gids tijdens deze minitour met kleine groepen, beperkt tot 16 personen.

Onze eerste stop is bij het Kilburn White Horse-heuvelfiguur op de grens van het North York Moors National Park, waar uw gids u het verhaal vertelt over hoe het in 1857 in de heuvels is uitgehouwen.
We stoppen vervolgens in het pittoreske stadje Helmsley, waar u het middeleeuwse kasteel kunt bekijken, de leuke winkeltjes kunt verkennen of gewoon een ontspannen Yorkshire Brew kunt nuttigen in een van de cafés - de keuze is aan u!
Na Helmsley gaan we door Hutton-le-Hole naar het hart van het North York Moors National Park voor een aantal fotostops, langs de 16e-eeuwse Lion Inn op Blakey Ridge (het hoogste punt op de Moors) en Ralph's Cross, en stoppen vervolgens in het schilderachtige en pittoreske dorpje Lealholm in Yorkshire om de stapstenen over de rivier de Esk te zien - een geweldige fotomoment! Het is dan slechts een korte reis naar Whitby, terwijl je verhalen over de geschiedenis van de badplaats hoort van je gids die je ook zal vertellen over de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden die je misschien wilt bezoeken.
Als je in Whitby aankomt, zal er een korte stop zijn bij het Captain Cook Statue en Whalebone Arch op de West Cliff en vervolgens alternatieve drop-offs in de haven of Whitby Abbey, als je je bezoek daar wilt beginnen om te voorkomen dat je de 199 stappen! Je hebt drie uur vrije tijd in Whitby, met opties om de nieuwste attractie van Whitby te bezoeken, The Endeavour Experience (een van de slechts twee replica's op ware grootte van de bestaande HM Bark Endeavour), het Captain Cook Museum, neem de Bark Endeavour-schaal replica boottocht rond de haven, bekijk Whitby Abbey (inspiratie voor de Dracula-boeken) of verken gewoon de winkels en de markt van de badplaats en ervaar Fish & Chips van het beroemde Magpie Café - de keuze is aan u!
Je komt aan in het prentbriefkaart-dorp Goathland (filmlocatie voor "Aidensfield" in de Heartbeat televisieserie en "Hogsmeade" in de Harry Potter-films) waar je de filmlocaties kunt verkennen, of misschien gewoon een ijsje kunt pakken van de dorpswinkel - de keuze is aan jou!
We verlaten Goathland voor onze laatste stop om te genieten van het prachtige uitzicht op de Hole of Horcum voordat we teruggaan naar York.

We had the best day out doing the tour around the moors and Whitby. Mark, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helped the time spent on the bus between destinations fly by. He went out of his way to give us as many unique experiences as possible which was greatly appreciated.

We had a great day on this trip from York to Whitby. Marc, our guide, was just perfect: friendly, funny and passionate about his area. He was able to make the trip come alive with his anecdotes, local stories and explanations always interesting. The 1st stop a little short and the pace a little steady, it still allows us to see the beauties of NorthYork Moors National Park. However, we had a little more time to enjoy Whitby’s unique atmosphere. The landscapes crossed are beautiful and give a beautiful glimpse of the beauty of Yorkshire. We took the option on site of the train which was extraordinarily. This is an outing we recommend to anyone who wants to discover the region without having to worry about road or logistics. Our friendly guide Mark was great, very knowledgeable and accommodating. We saw/did a lot but had plenty of time for coffee/bathroom stops along the way. I enjoyed standing in the heather looking across the moors, Whitby was beautiful, and the steam train was a memorable experience. We were a group of 16, Mark's information was very good, his driving was safe and the tour kept to time. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

This was a wonderful tour from start to finish. Mark, our guide, was exceptional and went above and beyond. His knowledge of the area was incredible and he made it all interesting. The views were out of this world, culminating in a wonderful visit to Whitby. I can't recommend this tour highly enough and I would even do it again it was so good.

It was a scam, there was no tour guide o tour despite having paid and having received a confirmation. Still waiting for the refund and compensation, which who knows if and when will happen.
Day trip to moors & Whitby with this company was simply the best from start to finish. All on time, lots of information from our amazing guide Ben who didn't stop giving us all the history from this amazing part of u.k. Loved the steam train ride to Whitby, Recommend the fish n chips & mushy peas. Met some good people visiting from U.S.A Recommend to everyone, probably not suitable for children.

Mark was a great guide! He starts out by asking everyone’s name and where they are from, which creates a friendly atmosphere right at the beginning. He does a superb job in describing villages along the way as well as much information about the Moors. Appreciated his tips on restaurant options in Whitby. He gets an A++!

Me and my son took this trip with Mountain Goat Tours on August 30th. Our driver was John and I think we got so lucky. John made the trip with his humour and facts that he delivered throughout the day. I wish I had recorded all the history he relayed, so knowledgeable. We had the best weather too with sunshine and blue skies. The Mercedes passenger van was v comfortable even when going over the more bumpy trails. Highlights included the Moors and Whitby Bay and thanks to the recommendation from John we ate our fish and chips at the Magpie Cafe, award winning. Lovely! Highly recommended trio and hope you get John as your guide!
