Maak je klaar om walvishaaien van dichtbij te zien! Hoewel zwemmen naast hen een onvergetelijke sensatie is, kan het niet worden gegarandeerd. Uw veiligheid en het welzijn van de walvishaaien hebben onze hoogste prioriteit, dus zwemmen is alleen toegestaan als de omstandigheden ideaal zijn. Zelfs als de ervaring beperkt is tot het bekijken vanaf de boot, blijft het zicht adembenemend en diep gedenkwaardig.

Uw avontuur begint op onze privépier in Puerto Juárez. Bij aankomst geniet u van een lichte koffiepauze terwijl u uw Gids en de rest van de groep ontmoet. Voordat u aan boord gaat, zal uw Gids een veiligheidsbriefing geven, het reisschema van de dag uitleggen en nuttige tips delen om met de walvishaaien te zwemmen. Zodra iedereen klaar is, is het tijd om aan boord van de boot te gaan en op zoek te gaan naar deze prachtige zachte reuzen.
Na vertrek vanaf onze privépier in Puerto Juárez vaar je over het kristalheldere turquoise water van de Mexicaanse Caraïben. Onderweg passeert u de prachtige kustlijn van Isla Mujeres voordat u verder de kust opgaat, waar de zee verandert in diepe, levendige blauwtinten. Let tijdens de reis op dolfijnen, zeeschildpadden, roggen en zeevogels, die vaak langs de route worden gespot. Als je het voedergebied voor walvishaaien nadert, zal je Gids je helpen zoeken naar de eerste tekenen van deze prachtige zachte reuzen, waardoor de verwachting deel uitmaakt van het avontuur zelf.
Eenmaal aangekomen in het walvishaaiengebied zullen de kapitein en Gids zoeken naar de beste mogelijkheden om deze prachtige dieren veilig te benaderen met inachtneming van alle instandhoudingsvoorschriften. Als je aan de beurt bent, ga je in paren met je gecertificeerde Gids het water in voor een onvergetelijke snorkelervaring naast 's werelds grootste vissen. Onze tours met kleine groepen maximaliseren uw kansen om te genieten van maximaal twee keer zwemmen per persoon, afhankelijk van de zeeomstandigheden, wildlife activiteit en park regelgeving. Ontspan tussen het zwemmen door op de boot en bekijk de ongelooflijke actie terwijl walvishaaien, reuzenmanta's en ander zeeleven zich voeden in de kristalheldere Caribische wateren. Dit is echt een unieke ontmoeting met wilde dieren en een van de meest memorabele ervaringen die het Mexicaanse Caribisch gebied te bieden heeft.
Bij onze laatste stop gaan we voor anker voor het wereldberoemde strand Playa Norte vanaf Isla Mujeres. Deze idyllische plek staat bekend om zijn zachte witte zand, kristalheldere turquoise water en levendige sfeer. We delen een typisch Caribische lunch met heerlijke ceviche, romige guacamole en knapperige totopos. Vier daarna de dag door te waden in het ondiepe, warme water of ontspan gewoon en geniet van de zon op het ongerepte strand.

Deze duur kan echter langer zijn vanwege de weersomstandigheden, de locatie van de walvishaaien en het aantal zwemmogelijkheden. Bovendien varieert de transfertijd van uw hotel naar onze pier, afhankelijk van uw locatie en de huidige verkeersomstandigheden. Inclusief transfers kunt u ervan uitgaan dat de hele tour tussen de 7 en 12 uur duurt

Overall disappointed with the trip. Our guide was fantastic but the main attraction was not a great experience. Amazing to see the whale shark but there were also 10 boats all on top of this one animal. Felt very rushed and dangerous in the water with so many people all on top of each other. I received several kicks to the face and was pushed under on several occasions by people all trying to get as close as they can to the animal. Very limited time in the water due to the amount of people surrounding the whale shark. Our guide noticed the dangers and was excellent at making sure we were as safe as possible under the circumstances. Snorkelling was also a bit of a let down. Reef wasn’t amazing and the sea was very difficult to snorkel in as it was very rough. Really strong currents pulling you. Wasn’t much wildlife underneath us. The stop at Isla Mujeres was okay. Not allowed to go onto the beach. Only float around near the boat while they make some lunch for you. Lunch wasn’t great. Overall the guide and boat crew were brilliant. Always checking if you are okay while travelling to the sites and if you needed anything. For the cost of the trip I expected a bit more and not 100s of people all crowding one animal.

Excellent in every way. Guides provided optimal opportunities for you to swim with these beautiful creatures. I went with my teenaged son and felt safe considering we’re in open sea. Great footage was provided too to make this a memorable experience.

This was by far the best experience ever! One for the bucket list. Our tour guide Pepe made the experience so enjoyable from pick up to drop off. His enthusiasm and passion was infectious, and he was so attentive and kind to everyone. It was the most incredible experience to swim alongside these beautiful creatures. They really are the gentle giants of the ocean. The trip was expensive but worth every penny. It was a full day, pick up 6.30am and back by 3.30pm, the schedule ran perfectly. Highly recommend!!!

Great communication upon booking. Picked me up from playa del carmen on time and I honestly had the best day I’ve had in Mexico! Vanessa was an incredible tour guide, so passionate and kind, along with Gato, Mazlon and Manuel. Despite the worries from the heavy rain and thunder increasing the risk that we wouldn’t see any whale sharks, we did! And we were lucky to have seen so many of them that we could swim 3 times! On my last swim I got to swim with a manta ray! I felt we got a fair amount of time to swim with them until they had swam out of reach/it was the next couples turn and the guide took videos for us too. I was initially nervous to be in such deep open water but once I was in I forgot all my worries seeing how beautiful the whale sharks are, and the flippers really help you to swim fast to keep up with them. The lunch and reef snorkelling was also really enjoyable. This will be a memory I will always remember. Thank you

We had the most amazing experience with Ocean Tours. Max is the best guide! He was kind, knowledgeable and made the entire day relaxing and fun! Swimming with the whale sharks has been on my family's bucket list for 6 years and we finally made it happen. Max and his crew were amazing every step of the way. My 70 year old mom went along and was unsure about getting in the water with the sharks, our Captain convinced her to give it a try with lots of positive reinforcement and Max guided her effortlessly to ensure she had a wonderful experience. Everything about the day was phenomenal! Not only did we get to swim with the sharks, we also got to swim with a few manta rays, it was majestic! This was a great experience with our fantastic guide Suly. It was obvious he cares a lot about the animals and the environment. Everything we needed was provided and we were very prepared heading out in the boat. We were able to jump and swim three times with the whale sharks, and we enjoyed the reef snorkel as well. The light lunch was delicious on the beautiful Isla Mujeres beach. Transport to and from the hotel was easy. Everyone I interacted with was professional and helpful. An awesome day!

We were picked up from our hotel complex by our guide Nils shortly before 6 a.m. Afterward, we headed to Cancun. Nils explained the daily schedule and also the snorkeling with the whale sharks on the bus. All guests who were a bit afraid were well spoken to and encouraged by Nils. Once we arrived in Cancun, we went out to sea on a boat with nearly 10 people. Upon arriving at the whale sharks, each of us was allowed to take turns getting into the water and snorkeling with the whale shark. It was a unique experience. Nils was with us in the water the whole time and supported us wherever he could. Afterward, we drove toward Isla Mujeres. Shortly before that, there was still an opportunity to snorkel. After that, we went to Isla Mujeres, where we got a small but very good lunch on board. After approx. 8 hours, the excursion was over. Nils guided us perfectly through the day. I can definitely recommend the excursion and our guide.

This tour was beyond our expectations. We must have seen hundreds of whale sharks and manta rays. The experience was definitely worth the money. Mac was our guide and he couldn't have been more organized, courteous, helpful and professional. You could tell he truly wanted you to have the most spectacular experience.
