Terrible activity. Rafting is a bit of a stretch; it’s a ride in an inflatable boat. You paddle five times. You eat in record time at a pseudo ranch, wondering if the trash has ever been cleaned, it’s a horror! 25 minutes by bus one way and the same for the return. A crazy crowd, so you shouldn’t go too fast to avoid being jostled. In short, it’s to be avoided.
Hi there, We are sorry to hear that the rafting trip did not meet your expectations. The river is low this year from this winters record low snow pack in our area. For that reason, it is moving slower. We will ensure that our staff continues to let our guests know this detail. We are always looking for ways to improve and striving to satisfy all of our guests. If there are any ways that we could have improved your trip, or if you have more feedback, please contact our office. Best, Sierra
We had an amazing time paddling on the Colorado River. We rode in the oar frame raft with our excellent guide Hope. She knew the river well and made the experience fun and exciting. The guides were all very professional and fun. We especially liked talking with Mike and Warren who are knowledgeable about the geology and native history of the area. Cannot recommend enough! Book this trip!!
Hello, We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your rafting trip down the Westwater section of the Colorado River. Thank you for your review and recommendation. We greatly appreciate your kind words about our team, we'll be sure to pass them along. We hope to see you again soon! Best, Corey
Our full-day West Canyon white water rafting tour with Navtech Adventures was not disappointing. Water levels were unusually low this year, but we still experienced plenty of exciting Class III and IV rapids — and even the smaller rapids were a lot of fun. Our guide, Michael, was extremely knowledgeable about the geography and local history of the areas we covered, both on the river and during the drive. In addition, Michael had a great sense of humor and more importantly, he had amazing rafting skills that kept us safe while still allowing us to enjoy a fun and exciting experience. Safety was always emphasized throughout the trip. The other guides who contributed to the experience, Addy and Will, were also fun and knowledgeable. There was clearly a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among all the guides, and they all had a great sense of humor while consistently reinforcing safety throughout the day.
The whitewater part is maybe only 40 min but the drive there and back is about 3 hours total. There is plenty of other time on fairly flat river but the views and eagles and heron was great. Will was a great guide and did all the rowing / steering so if you want to paddle be sure to ask about it. Lunch was awesome!
Amazing rafting trip down the Colorado river in Westerwater, an area of the river near the Colorado/Utah border. It involves a few hours drive to the start, mostly through gorgeous area alongside the river, but the white water and wildlife make it worth the effort. Friendly and informative guides. Thanks for the trip!
Thank you for joining us on our Westwater Canyon Full-Day Rafting Adventure. We are glad that you enjoyed the white water and wildlife and your guided experience. We will pass this message along to our guides since we use these reviews to improve our experiences and to reward great ones. Thanks again!
Class 3/4 rapids. Will and Nick were amazing guides!!! We felt very safe on the trip with them. Went thru many rapids and they were thrilling.
We had a perfect day rafting Westwater Canyon. Bridger was our guide and he did an awesome job navigating the rapids and making the trip a blast. There were 2 rafts on our trip - one where the participants helped paddle, and a second where the guide did all the work and we got to just sit back and enjoy the ride. Great day, highly recommend.
We had great guides on this trip and had fun. I gave it 4 stars because the description (TripAdvisor and NAVTEC) made the trip sound more adventurous than it was. Our 8-hour trip had over 2 hours in a van, about 1 hour of waiting, 1 hour of awesome rapids, and the rest was basically a float trip (although you do see amazing rock layers from the river). We were hoping for lots more white water and may not have taken this trip if we knew the fun:slow ratio.
This is a must do trip if you are in Moab. Trip was for myself and 11 yo son and we had a great time. Overall the trip is mellow but had just enough easy whitewater to have excitement. It was a great and different view for the area. The guide was incredible and knew a lot about the area and history. The lunch they provided was very tasty (sandwich wraps, chips and homemade pasta salad). This trip is great for any age and I would recommend it. We did it on a hot day but that is what the water is for.
I recently had the most incredible experience on the Navtec Westwater Whitewater trip and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From start to finish, everything was well organized and exceeded all my expectations. Our guide, Lake, was an absolute superstar! His expertise on the river not only made me feel safe but also added an extra dimension of excitement to the trip. Lake's knowledge of the area, wildlife, and history really enhanced the overall experience. He was also super attentive to everyone's needs and made sure we all had a blast. The scenery during the trip was breathtaking and the thrill of navigating through the rapids was unmatched. The entire team at Navtec were professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. I can honestly say this was one of the best outdoor adventures I have ever been on, and I cannot wait to do it again. If you're looking for a fun and exhilarating whitewater experience, be sure to book with Westwater Whitewater and request Lake as your guide - you won't be disappointed!
