8 AM- Hotel ophalen We bezoeken het huis van Mahatma Gandhi, waar hij de legendarische zoutmars van 1930 leidde. Gebouwd in 1917 langs de oevers van de Sabarmati-rivier, woonde Gandhiji hier 12 jaar. Kom meer te weten over de Vrijheidsbeweging in India en de non-violence filosofie door door deze gangen te lopen. Zijn woonruimte en huishoudelijke voorwerpen vertellen allemaal een verhaal!
Rana Veer Singh. Er is een tragisch verhaal over de koningin in verband gebracht met deze bron. Ze behendig behaalde de goed geconstrueerd, zelfs nadat haar man werd verslagen in de strijd door de sultan van Gujarat, Mohammad Begda.
Hutheesing Jain-tempel werd gebouwd tijdens een zware hongersnood om werk te bieden aan honderden bekwame ambachtslieden. Er zijn maar liefst 52 heiligdommen gewijd aan de Tirthankara's.
We bezoeken de Siddi Sayid-moskee om de wereldberoemde 'Tree of Life' te zien, een traliewerk gedaan op halfronde boogvensters. Dit motief is het onofficiële symbool van Ahmedabad geworden. De moskee werd in 1572 gebouwd door het Gujarat Sultanaat in hun laatste jaren van heerschappij voordat ze verloren aan de Mughals.

Thanks to dream team guide Anant and driver Gautam I experienced a truly perfect and taylor-made full day tour in Ahmedabad: it included all the mandatory stops, but also a stop so I could visit the textile museum (I had made my own reservation), multiple visits of Kulhad chai and breakfast stands (upon my special request), a fantastic Gujarati thali lunch (included in the price) and a visit to house of a local genius painter workshop. It was truly a perfect and memorable day. Thanks to everyone involved.
The tour was amazing and our guide, Malek and our driver, Mukesh helped to make it that. Lunch was spectacular as was the company. We learned a lot and feel very lucky to have had this experience.
Ahmedabad is great ! Would recommend to anyone visiting for a day trip and wants to see the highlights of the city. Doesn’t feel over touristy, feels like a real experience.
A wonderful way to see the city. Jamshed was a great guide and I felt I saw so much of the city in just one day. The stepwell was a total highlight. Lunch was also excellent.

I would highly recommend this tour. It was an amazing cultural experience. My tour guide, Malek, was excellent - very knowledgeable and provided me with the history and side stories of every spot we visited. Lunch was also delicious. I have fallen in love with Ahmedabad.
