Verken de smalle straatjes en steegjes van Stone Town. Het UNESCO-werelderfgoed is een doolhof van kronkelende straatjes en steegjes, elk omzoomd met kleurrijke huizen en winkels. Neem de tijd om rond te dwalen en te verdwalen, en kijk zeker omhoog naar de ingewikkelde houten deuren, een van de meest onderscheidende kenmerken van de stad. Bezoek het oude fort. Dit imposante fort werd in de 17e eeuw gebouwd door de Portugezen en later gebruikt door de Omaanse Arabieren over de geschiedenis van Stone Town. Ga winkelen bij Darajani Bazaar. Deze bruisende markt is een geweldige plek om souvenirs, kruiden en andere lokale producten te vinden. Leer meer over de geschiedenis van de slavernij op de Oude Slavenmarkt. Deze ontnuchterende herinnering aan het duistere verleden van de stad is nu een museum dat het verhaal vertelt van de slavernij op Zanzibar. Ervaar het lokale leven in Jaws Corner. This was an interesting walk through the old town named Stone Town. Our guide was a certified and experienced man, Ali Rashid. His communication before the tour was excellent, and he was excited to take us on this tour. I recommend Ali Rashid as tour guide whole heartedly! So this walk through the history of Stone Town is interesting, seeing the history and old buildings. Some are really in no good state, but renovation projects are on going. The Slave trade museum is very interesting but a tragic part of history. I would recommend to rather go early morning for the heat later in the day can become too much. All in all I think the tour was worth the money.
