Sofia our guide was extremely knowledgeable of The history of Prague! She was a great tour guide and took a bunch of pictures of us as well. Great walking tour! What an amazing place to visit !! Highly recommend doing!!
Our guide was well versed in all information and history, taking us on a full adventure of the immense castle..... It was very crowded this day and without the guide it would have been challenging
I wanted this tour to serve as a capable introduction and orientation to Prague's castle area. Regrettably, it was challenging from the start. The guide, who I'm sure was educated and experienced on the subject matter, was very soft spoken with a heavy accent. This wouldn't be a problem if headsets were provided, but they weren't. We heard perhaps 20% of the content. Most of the group got visibly frustrated when we stopped for 30 minutes in a minor chapel in the complex and we sat in two rows of the chapel while the guide spoke to the woman next to her (basically giving her a private tour) and literally no one else could hear her. We were erratically guided the whole way, as she quickly shuffled away from the group from sight to sight, then had to stop and wait for the rest of us to fight though crowds; several times, we lost members which delayed the tour. Other times, she simply carried on to the one or two people who fought through the crowds to stay on her heels (contributing to the majority missing more content). She continually jumped around (sometimes repeating lengthy lectures) and it felt as if she was unprepared in terms of route, content, and delivery. If your only interest is knowing what the buildings are, this would be sufficient. If you're looking for culture, history, and context, look elsewhere.
Unfortunately this was my last tour of a month long vacation in Europe. I used Viator/tripadvisor for almost all of my tours and this one I requested a partial refund as it was not what was advertised. We ended up with a dual language tour even though we requested an English guide. For the other tours that advertised having English guides it was exclusively English. Do to the guide having to speak both languages we were rushed and very little opportunity to ask question. It felt very manufactured vs paying for a good tour. When I complained the response from the tour group was no where did they advertise language only tours so they were not very sympathetic to their poor communication. Viator did step in and gave me half of my fee back making it more like the value we received. I would recommend looking into another tour company.
Great day excellent guide informitive good pace good views all went as planned meeting place easily found
The guide was fantastic. She was very professional, informative, and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend this tour to everybody.
Signing up for a tour is probably the best way to see Prague Castle. This particular tour was not bad but I give it an average rating. The guide took us around the different parts of Prague Castle and provided history and explanations. But here is where it could have been better: 1. It was hard to hear the tour guide. It would have been better if she had a microphone as I noticed other tour guides had. 2. Part of the castle was closed - we paid full price but were unable to see part of it. It would have been better if we were notified of this prior to the tour (like the day before, so we are prepared) rather than inform us during the tour. 3. I booked an English tour, but all explanations were also translated in German - it would have bee nice to know this ahead of time. 4. The tour ran way over 3 hours. For me it was fine as I did not have anything else planned, but had I booked something else, this would have been a problem. Prague Castle is beautiful and is a must see. A guided tour is probably the best way to see it rather than go on your own.
Our guide, John/Johannes was fantatic...very knowledgable and informative. Kept us on time and shared personal experiences about his life in Prague.
The tour company and guide are excellent. The Prague Castle is extremely crowded but very interesting. The Golden Lane has mostly shops and a water faucet with clean water for thirsty visitors. Overall a very good tour.
We gave a great guided tour with Andrea: She spoke vividly and vividly. She was highly motivated! Thank you!
