Om 9.30 uur begint onze wandeltocht vanuit Tremezzo, een typisch dorp met uitzicht op het centrale deel van het meer, tegenover Bellagio en Varenna. We lopen van Tremezzo naar Ossuccio via een oude verbindingsweg, de "Greenway of the Lake" en ontdekken zachte paden, verborgen hoekjes van de lokale geschiedenis en betoverende uitzichten op het meer. We bereiken Ossuccio en van daaruit het eiland Comacina met de openbare boot. Het eiland Comacina is het enige eiland van het Comomeer, een van de meest interessante archeologische vindplaatsen in Noord-Italië voor de vroege middeleeuwen. Het gebied, genaamd Zoca de l'Oli vanwege het milde klimaat, is bedekt met mediterrane vegetatie en olijfbomen voor de productie van lokale olie. Van het eiland Comacina terug met de openbare boot naar Ossuccio, van Ossuccio te voet naar Villa Balbianello, in Lenno. Villa Balbianello is gelegen op een bebost voorgebergte aan het Comomeer. Dit elegante, romantische 18e-eeuwse herenhuis en de prachtige tuin hebben onderdak geboden aan schrijvers en reizigers, waaronder Guido Monzino, de laatste eigenaar.

Isola Comacina is een klein bebost eiland in het Comomeer in Italië. Het gebied, genaamd Zoca de l'Oli vanwege het milde klimaat, is bedekt met mediterrane vegetatie en olijfbomen voor de productie van lokale olie. Het enige eiland van het Comomeer, is een van de meest interessante archeologische vindplaatsen in Noord-Italië voor de vroege middeleeuwen. Het eiland werd geruime tijd belegerd door de Longobarden onder Authari. Het eiland werd in 1169 binnengevallen door Frederick Barbarossa en soldaten uit de stad Como, die het eiland in brand staken. Villa del Balbianello is een villa gelegen op de top van het kleine beboste schiereiland Dosso d'Avedo, in de zuidwestelijke tak van het Comomeer. Villa del Balbianello staat bekend om zijn uitgebreide terrastuinen, met een beroemde loggia waardoor kijkers twee verschillende panorama's van het meer konden bewonderen, van oost naar west. De locatie van de Villa werd ook gebruikt voor beroemde films: Star Wars (2002), Casino Royale (2006), His Demise (2016), A month by the lake (1995) en vele anderen.
Vanuit Tremezzo lopen we door oude dorpjes en zachte paden naar Ossuccio langs een antieke Romeinse verbindingsweg, de "Greenway of the Lake" (ongeveer 100 meter hoogteverschil, ongeveer 8 km). Betoverende panorama's over het meer, de natuur en de lokale geschiedenis.

Great day on Lake Como. This walking tour took us off the beaten path and out of the crowds for a bit, walking through neighborhoods and visiting historic sites on the island, then we had a lovely tour of the gardens of Villa Balbianello. Our wonderful guide Nadia was incredibly knowledgeable about the rich history of Lake Como, and provided lots of fun, practical information that only a local would know.
Nadia really knows her stuff. My husband and I took the private walking tour of Como and Nadia showed us great walking areas and was more than willing to help us plan anything else we needed help with.
Absolutely loved our walk. Our tour guide really knew her stuff. She even gave us ideas of other things we could do during our stay. 10/10 would recommend!
Nadia was an excellent guide! So great to connect with a local who grew up on the lake and is also well travelled! She took us on a nice scenic route away from the crowds giving us some great insight into the area. We walked a lot, learned a lot, ate lunch at a local restaurant and wrapped it all up with an amazing gelato. Highly recommend!

This was a tour of one of the most beautiful places in Lake Como. The gardens were amazing and the green belt magnificent. Alessandro was our tour guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly and is someone I would highly recommend for their tour. I five him 5÷ stars.
Exceeded our expectation! Our guide Nadia is very experienced and passionate, who shared with us many local treasures. The path we took is completely out of the usual touristy area. Our family of five including five young kids truly enjoyed the beautiful and educational walk with Nadia. Value for money!
