Zie hoe prachtig de natuur van Rio de Janeiro kan zijn op deze wandeltocht door het Tijuca-regenwoud. Rio's hoogste bergtop (Pico da Tijuca) bevindt zich in Tijuca, dat in de jaren '60 van de vorige eeuw werd uitgeroepen tot nationaal park. Wandel met een ervaren gids naar deze wonderschone plek en leer onderweg van alles over het regenwoud. Aan de top wordt u beloond met een geweldig uitzicht op Rio en de baai van Guanabara. Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Wacht 10 minuten voor de ophaaltijd op uw gids in de hotellobby van het door u geselecteerde hotel. Als uw hotel niet in de lijst staat, neem dan contact met ons op zodat we u kunnen informeren over de dichtstbijzijnde ophaallocatie en -tijd. Als u wilt vermijden dat u andere passagiers ophaalt en afzet, vraag dan naar de locatie van het laatste ontmoetingspunt wanneer u belt om te herbevestigen of wanneer u uw ophaalpunt selecteert.

- Draag comfortabele wandel- of wandelschoenen en breng zonnebrandcrème, een hoed, een zonnebril en je eigen water en snacks mee om te eten / drinken tijdens de periodieke pauzes tijdens je wandeling

Raphael was a knowledgable and fun guide! The hike to the Tijuca peak was not too difficult and suitable for children. Don’t expect to see any animals though …

<p>Such an awesome and memorable experience! I would highly recommend doing this hike during your trip to Brazil. Our tour guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the area and kept a steady pace for us. The views were stunning and it was well worth the trip to the top. I hiked up the mountain with my boyfriend and went down with fiancé! He proposed at the top which resulted in some pretty awesome pictures thanks to our tour guide!</p>
To hike in Rio’s Tijuca Forest, you need a guide. Pascal from France-Rio is the specialist who knows the forest like no one else.
We booked the 4 Hour Rainforest Tour in advance through aviator. A few weeks before the trip we received an email about the exact pick-up time. At 7:30 a.m. on time, Paola stood in front of the hotel with her vehicle. Incredibly friendly and helpful. She told us a lot about the city and its development. No question was too stupid for her. After a 20min drive we stopped briefly at a lookout. Wonderful panorama and through the early excursion time without other annoying tourists. After another 15min the hike through the rainforest has begun. You don't see any animals, but is a little adventure up the mountain. It takes an hour up the mountain and the panorama is amazing. By the early time you are alone in the forest and at the top. A great tour to get to know Rio outside the tour and Paola made it special! Thank you, Thank You and Obrigado Paola! David & Marlene

<p>Our hike through the Tijuca Rainforest was amazing! What an incredible green space inside such a large metropolitan area. We really cant say enough good things about our guide Rafael Caja. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He paced the climb so that everyone could enjoy the day. Very professional. We would not hesitate to book Rafael again, If or when we return to Rio! We highly recommend this guide and this hike to others.</p>

<p>If you like to hike and would like some exercise during your vacation in Brazil then this is the hike for you, the highest peak in Rio :- i still can't believe i made it to the top. The pacing is steady but if you need to stop all you have to do is say so, to avoid light headedness and muscle cramps. Our tour guide, Raul was very knowledgeable and gives you information about the place. He loves to travel and could recommend other places to see. My husband and I felt so accomplished when we reached the top and it became somewhat of a private tour since it was just the two of us who booked for that day so it was an awesome experience. I am not an avid hiker so for me this hike is moderate/hard haha! :- bring plenty of water, bananas/energy bars, and your proper hiking shoes.</p>
<p>Pauola our guide was fantastic. She was at our hotel on time. She was very engaging throughout the entire trip. She is very knowlegeable about the park and its history. She was great at explaining things to us along the hike and very attentive to our needs. She was extremely personable. The hike can be a bit taxing at points, but Paola was such fun it made the hike even better. Be prepared to bring water, snacks for energy, and a light backpack to keep it in. Depending on the weather it can get pretty hot and humid, but it is worth it. We were fortunate enough to stumble across some of the local animals that live in the forest. The view at the top is awesome. It is amazing when you contrast the forest to the city when they are so close. A great half day activity.</p>
