Reisroute

We walk a lot today in the old city part. The lady tell us about big old houses and balconies made of wood. I see the Santa Ana Cathedral, it is so big and very old stones. The ground is all rocks, my legs get a bit tired but it is okay. She talk about Christopher Columbus and how he stop here long time ago. We have a cold drink after in a small shop, very quiet and nice. I take many pictures of the colorful walls for my family.
It was a Spanish and English tour. The guide spoke a lot more to the Spanish speakers than the English speakers. We got a 1-2 minute explanation of sites while it was twice as long plus better question/ answers interaction. To be fair, there was an English speaking couple who questioned and added their own version to everything she said. (I am not sure who was right or wrong about the history). Her voice didn’t carry to those of us on the edge plus we felt like second class citizens being English speakers.
Dear Friend, Yes, right sometimes we have two languagues, but our guide make all efforts to make both and simultaneously. This is not fair to say english is second class, not true. Maybe next time I will suggest to order a private tour and thus your experience would be more satisfactory Thanks for your review Bruno
Nice walk around the old town. Just enough information to tell you about the history of the place. Our guide was super friendly 😀 I would recommend it to anyone who would like a short tour, pointing out the must see buildings.
Very dedicated guide who conveys the individual sights with a lot of fun, with abundant historical background. You can tell she is proud to be from Gran Canaria. Much learned. Highly recommended.
The meeting place was dirty and nowhere clean to sit and wait for the start. When we finally started, there were 42 people in our tour. It was overcrowded and multilingual Spanish and English. It was a large group so took a lot of space in the narrow roads and the guide spoke 2/3rds of the time in Spanish, so we spent a lot of time standing around waiting. At each stop the lady guide asked us if we knew why or what about landmarks, which we of course knew nothing. This questioning of us at every stop became annoying. After twenty minutes we gave up and left the tour very disappointed. The first time we have ever done so.
Dear Ian, Thanks for coming with us and review. We will send your message to the Town Hall cleaning services as this is not our fault, indeed this should be not mentioned here. Regarding numerous group, it is true we had last friday a group from a cruise and we were around 28 pax. ( do not exaggerated 42 >!!!!) Our guide has a speaker to make voice lourder when needed it for this cases.. Next time Ian, buy or book a private tour because only for 7 euros paid can not be exclusive for you, I am afraid not. Regards Bruno Knudsen Vizcaino
Hard to find the meeting point because the address changed and/or it doesn’t match the pinpoint on the map.
Thanks for coming and sorry to some troubles with google or GPS. Meeting point for walking tour is clear Tasca Bar picadita Herreria street close to tourist bus stop Guiniguada. And always you can call us in vase can not find us to help you Regards
Very short and shared with English speakers so the explanations of the guide (very professional) were done in 2 languages with the consequent loss of time
Muchas gracias por su comentario. Es un paseo corto y muy barato 7 euros es una pequeña introducción histórica de la parte antigua. Esperamos hayan disfrutado de la visita se les hizo corta por lo qie vemos. Saludos y hasta la próxima
(I'm afraid I've forgotten our guide's name) but she was delightful, knowledgeable and helpful and helped me with my Spanish studies by pointing out some local, historical signs and challenging me to interpret them. Of particular interest was the Calle de los Balcones and the area in front of the catedral. Also, it was so easy to book through TripAdvisor We went back the next day for lunch at a wonderful little Italian restaurant nearby called La Dolce Vita in Millares Torres
Normally Maria or Itaysa are the tour guides in the old town and also me. Glad to read that you were so satisfied with us and hope you enjoyed delicious food in the Italian restaurant. Regards
Tour lasted one hour; somewhat short to cover most of the old town. Learned new facts, historical and present, but due to time limitation superficial. Would like two hour tour with 15 minutes rest halfway.
Thanks a lot for taking your time to review us. Yes indeed this tour is short ( 1hr ) but also cheap just 7 euros....maybe you would like to pay like 15 or 20 euros and 2 hours ¿? Regards Bruno
Lots of sun, quiet relaxing holiday. Old town of Las Palmas is definitely worth a visit as well as the beach and its promenade. Don't forget the market in Puerto de Morgan.
