Het enige wolfhondenreservaat in Canada, wij zijn een non-profit reddingsorganisatie gewijd aan onderwijs en bewustwording over wolfhonden en wilde wolven. Onze missie is om geredde wolfshonden een zinvol en vervuld leven te bieden, terwijl we ervaringsgericht onderwijs aanbieden om het welzijn en begrip van wolfshonden binnen onze huiselijke wereld te bevorderen. Door authentieke verbindingen tussen onze wolfhonden en mensen te cultiveren, is ons doel om een waardering voor wolven in het wild en een herverbinding met onze natuurlijke wereld te inspireren. Wij zijn gevestigd net ten oosten van de Rocky Mountains in de buurt van Cochrane, Alberta, op 160 hectare met een huidige roedel van 60 + ingezeten wolfhonden. Samen met onze geweldige wolfhonden hebben we een bezoekerscentrum met souvenirs en educatieve middelen over wolfhonden en wilde wolven. Alle opbrengsten van toelatingen en koopwaar gaan rechtstreeks naar de verzorging van onze wolfhonden en het ondersteunen van toekomstige reddingen. Let op: kinderen moeten 6 jaar of ouder zijn om te bezoeken vanwege het gevoelige karakter van wolfhonden.

Ga met ons mee naar onze Wolfdog Wisdom-sessies en spreek met een van onze wolfdog-experts en zie de wolfhonden in actie! Onze Wolfdog Wisdom-sessies vinden dagelijks plaats om 11.30 uur, 13.00 uur, 14.00 uur en 15.30 uur.

Wolfdogs are awesome!!! Even with the cheapest admission we still got to see the wolfdogs up close. Be sure to align your visit time with the Wolfdog Wisdom sessions to howl with the wolves! Very educational, fun, and definitely worth the price. Not too crowded either
It was very cool seeing all of the wolf dogs. This place has wonderful enclosures for them and you can tell they are very well cared for. We did the tour and enjoyed learning their stories. We had a lot of fun feeding the goats, chickens, and guard dogs too.
Really good experience and worth the money. The sanctuary is well spread out and maintained. We opted to do the self guided tour due to the timing but it would have been great to hear the information provided in a guided tour. That said, the many information boards around the paths were very informative. It was lovely to see so many dogs being cared for in such a nice environment.
Our visit to was absolutely unforgettable. The sanctuary is beautiful, well maintained, and surrounded by stunning scenery that makes the entire experience feel peaceful and unique. We did one of the interactive tours where we were able to get up close and personal with the wolfdogs, and it was truly an amazing experience. The tour felt very personal, and the staff took the time to answer questions and share so much information about the animals, their behaviors, and the importance of conservation and education. You can really tell how much care and passion goes into looking after the wolfdogs. The experience was not only exciting but also incredibly informative. We learned so much during our visit, and it gave us a whole new appreciation for these beautiful animals. Seeing the wolfdogs up close was breathtaking, and the connection you feel during the tour is something we will never forget. I highly recommend visiting Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary to anyone looking for a meaningful, educational, and unforgettable experience.
Great place which gives you an insight into the wolfdogs and their behaviours . Very knowledgeable team who are happy to explain things . What a great job they do, very passionate
Self guided tour at a slow ish pace, reading about half the signs and stopping to admire all that we could see took a little over an hour. Every part of our experience was amazing, down to the gift shop

Very calming experience. Being able to hear their howl and see them roaming and in their element. The staff are all wonderful and love what they do. Definitely support the sanctuary and all the work they do to help these beautiful animals.
