Beschrijving

The hike is strenuous but the winery destination is well worth it. Fantastic wine and food. Simone was a good guide and grew up in Vicchio.
Simone is a fantastic guide and his knowledge of the area really enhanced the experience! The winery we went to was amazing and Vicchio and the rest of the countryside is worth the visit.
We had the most lovely afternoon with the host and her family. What a beautiful story about how they got started and we learned so much. The food was great, the olive oil was incredible and the wine was exquisite. Recommend this 1000%!!
We wanted to see a little of ‘real’ Tuscany outside of Florence and were not disappointed! Simone gave us excellent instructions before we arrived on getting to Dicomano- even adjusting our tour time to fit train schedules- and helped us explore and learn more about this beautiful area. He talked about the history of the area, showed us a traditional farmhouse and explained how people lived and farmed, and pointed out the local flora, inviting us to taste freshly picked figs, grapes and tomatoes, as well as smelling many herbs along the way. The winery was also lovely, with incredible views (worth the hike!) and we were treated to 3 types of wine as well as delicious local produce including organic cheese, salami, bread and their own olive oil. At the end of the trip he went above and beyond- our bus back didn’t turn up so he gave us a lift to an alternative station so we could easily get back to Florence. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking something different on their trip to Florence- or even to explore this part of Tuscany further!
Thank you so much Charlotte, I 'm so glad you liked it! Wish you the best!
Simone was an excellent guide. In spite of the raining weather, this tour was worth it. He showed us the local history—it was interesting to learn about churches and the history in northern Tuscany. The countryside views were amazing with vineyards, olive groves, and homes scattered in the hills and valleys. Simone answered questions to help us understand the culture and agriculture. We enjoyed the tour and recommend it to others who like to immerse themselves in the Italian culture outside of the big cities.
Simone was a kind and thoughtful guide. He showed us the town and told us a little about the history before our hike. The hike itself had breathtaking views and Simone pointed out things that you might not see on a larger tour (like picking fennel plants for us to smell). He also kindly took photos for us along the hike and his English made it easy to converse. The hike felt more personal and the vineyard was beautiful (and had a cute dog). We would recommend Simone’s hike to anyone who values physical activity and beautiful views!
Even though it was only early spring in Italy, we enjoyed the tour so much. Hiking on tall hills and admiring the countryside and nature was unforgettable, and the people in the village and winery owner were so friendly and welcoming, such a different vibe from the city of Florence. We really did started to miss small but cozy Dicomano back in FL. Our guide was beyond friendly and helpful, told us some details about the history and present of the area and Florence that made us understand more about the culture of Florence and Tuscany. Would recommend to go with your family (no small children) or loved ones, or even by solo. Wine and small also were tasty. Definately do wanna go again!
Sincerely enjoyed this vineyard adventure! A quick train ride from SMN train station and you're in the country side. Simone met us at the train station and was incredibly kind and welcoming! The surrounding vineyards and the cellar were spectacular, and the host gave a wonderful tour which was very educational and inspiring If you are looking for a local experience, don't miss out on this!
