Fay was absolutely amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed indulging in delectable gluten-free dishes and other delightful treats. What truly set this tour apart was her exceptional knowledge of Paris and its unique neighborhoods and rich history. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an enriching experience in the City of Light.
As someone with coeliac disease, travelling can sometimes be stressful because I'm always wondering where I'll be able to eat safely. This tour completely took that worry away. Our guide, Fay, is beautiful, was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. It felt more like exploring the city with a local friend than being on a guided tour. She mixed the history and culture of the Saint-Germain area with brilliant gluten-free recommendations, and I learned so much along the way. The food was outstanding. The pastries and baguettes from Copains and the pains au chocolat from Le Pont Traversé were some of the best gluten-free baked goods I've ever eaten. We also stopped at Hédonie for coffee and discovered some fantastic gluten-free products. Walking through the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens and browsing places like Maison Brémond and Carré d'Artistes made the afternoon feel about much more than just food. I also appreciated that Fay pointed out places to come back to later, including Grom for gluten-free ice cream and Chapon, famous for its chocolate mousse. Those extra recommendations helped me make the most of the rest of my stay. This tour gave me something that's hard to put a price on: confidence. Instead of worrying about where I could safely eat, I left with a list of wonderful places and some fantastic memories. If you're visiting Paris and eat gluten-free, I genuinely can't recommend this tour enough. Thank you, Fay, for such a memorable afternoon.
Having gone on other food tours, the last in Prague, where we had 5 stops starting with appetizers, dinner options, and ending with desserts and an after dinner drink for 2/3 the price. The money spent did not compare with the food we received. For $360 we had a gluten free pastry when we first met, Fay purchased a single eclair for us to share (which she gave us when we parted), we sampled olive oils and spreads at a local shop and we each selected a personal size quiche to have at another local shop along with a charcuterie board for 2, baguette and a small bottle of wine. The walking tour of the area was delightful, but I booked it to enjoy the gluten free foods in Paris as I have celiac disease. I was expecting much more.
Hi, I am sorry you felt that way. Prices of activities/amount of food cannot be compared between Paris and Prague as the cost of living is different and way higher here. I proposed to you to take the éclair home, only if wanted, because most of the guests are full at the end of the tour and prefer that option. This tour is a food tour but also a historical tour - something you appreciated - and the price is based on a quality historical content written by a local guide and not only on the amount of food you receive. Also, the products you tasted are among the best of Paris: the gourmet store offers some of the finest products and you got to try many things there-rare old-fashioned macarons among them. I decided to do one éclair for 2 at the end because the tour includes already many sweets and the idea of a food tour is to get to sample different things. I really hope that you can understand the price that you paid better. Best, Fay
Fay was terrific. Knowledgeable and fun to walk around with and great food choices. Really glad we went on the tour with her.
Thank you so much Susie, it was a pleasure to meet you both!
Fay is a wonderful guide and a great person to explore Paris with! As a native Parisian who is celiac herself, we saw much of St. Germain des Pres and had so much good food! From sweet to savory, our gluten free finds were well curated and delicious! I have celiac's and it can be difficult to find places to eat in France. Having the tour towards the beginning of the trip makes it easier to know where the best places to eat are when accommodating gluten (or other) food allergies. We would highly recommend any tour she offers as Fay has extensive knowledge of history and her English is perfect!
Thank you so much Sean for your review. I am happy I could help make your trip easier regarding food. And I am glad you liked history as well! It was a pleasure to meet you both and maybe I will see you again next time!
