Wadi Rum Mountain Hike: Umm Ad Dami, hoogste punt van Jordanië + Jeeptour & Lunch

"Het hoogste punt van Jordanië bezoeken" kun je van je bucketlist afstrepen. We nemen je helemaal mee naar het meest zuidelijke deel van Jordanië waar nauwelijks toeristen komen. Je zult zien hoe de kleuren, bergen en het landschap veranderen terwijl we van de rode woestijn naar de witte woestijn rijden. Met 1854 meter boven zeeniveau geeft Umm Ad Dami je een spectaculair uitzicht over het noorden van Saoedi-Arabië en de Rode Zee. De klim zelf is technisch niet moeilijk, maar het pad is erg rotsachtig en op sommige stukken moet je klauteren. Na de klim bereiden we een traditionele lunch, terwijl je nog wat kunt wandelen in de Wadi Sabet-vallei. Het beklimmen van de Umm Ad Dami-berg zal onze belangrijkste focus zijn, maar we zullen ook een paar andere stops maken om je meer van de geschiedenis en hoogtepunten van Wadi Rum te laten zien. We eindigen de tour bij Um Sabatah, de beste plek om de magische zonsondergang te bekijken. OVERNACHTEN Om de volledige Wadi Rum-ervaring te krijgen, kun je een nacht toevoegen in ons bedoeïenenkamp, of buiten slapen in de grot, onder de sterrenhemel.

Wadi Rum Village - We ontmoeten elkaar in het Rest House in Wadi Rum Village tussen 09:30 - 10:00 uur. Dit is de eerste plaats die u aan uw rechterhand ziet als u het dorp binnenkomt. Er is een supermarkt en een souvenirwinkel en ons kantoor is om de hoek. Als alle toeristen aanwezig zijn en welkom geheten worden door de gids, starten we de tour (rond 10:00)
Wandelen Jebel Umm Ad Dami - Wandelen en klauteren op de berg Umm Ad Dami samen met je ervaren bedoeïenengids, die je veel verhalen kan vertellen over het gebied, het bedoeïenenleven en de verschillende planten en bloemen die je onderweg tegenkomt. De duur hangt af van uw tempo, maar duurt meestal ongeveer 2 tot 3 uur. Bovenaan nemen we de tijd om te relaxen, foto's te maken met de Jordaanse vlag, te genieten van het uitzicht en wat verse bedoeïenenthee te drinken.
Traditionele bedoeïenenlunch - Na de wandeling bereidt uw gids een heerlijke traditionele lunch, buiten op het vuur gekookt. De lunch die we maken is elke dag anders, maar we koken graag een warme maaltijd voor je met groenten, brood, hummus, yoghurt en andere lokale lekkernijen. Terwijl wij aan het koken zijn, kunt u de omgeving verkennen met een wandeling, of gewoon lekker gaan zitten en ontspannen terwijl u geniet van het panoramische landschap van Wadi Rum.
Witte Woestijn - De witte woestijn is totaal anders dan de Rode Woestijn. De witte woestijn ligt verder de woestijn in in een afgelegen gebied, met minder toeristen. De uitzichten zijn indrukwekkend en je ziet verschillende kleuren en rotsformaties zoals de Mushroom Rock of Chicken Rock
Wadi Sabet - Dit is een prachtige vallei met een geweldig uitzicht waar je een wandeling maakt om de omgeving te verkennen
Chicken Rock - Zie je een koe of een kip? Beslis zelf wanneer u leuke foto's maakt bij deze bezienswaardigheid.
Bedoeïenengrot - Als u door de meer afgelegen gebieden rijdt, ziet u grotten, verborgen in de bergen. Deze werden vele jaren geleden gebouwd toen er nog geen huizen waren en zelfs geen dorp. Neem een kijkje en ontdek hoe onze voorouders eeuwen geleden leefden.
Jeep Tour - De tijd die we nog hebben voor zonsondergang, besteden we aan sightseeing, bezoeken we de hoogtepunten van Wadi Rum
Um Sabatah Sunset Viewpoint - Wadi Rum staat bekend om de meest adembenemende zonsondergangen. En we kennen de beste plekken om het te bekijken! We nemen je mee naar een afgelegen gebied waar je het weidse panoramische landschap kunt overzien terwijl de zon ondergaat, terwijl we wat zoete bedoeïenenthee op het vuur bereiden. Ga gewoon op de matras of in het zand zitten en geniet van al het moois dat je om je heen ziet.

The all-day hike was one of our most authentic and memorable days in Jordan. Ateyeg (sorry if I didn’t get his name right) led us to the summit after a trip of about an hour. The hike isn’t long, but it’s uphill the whole way, on terrain that’s sandy in places but mostly rocky. The view from the top is amazing! Afterward, he made us lunch and showed us several other beautiful spots. He even invited us over to his grandparents’ tent for tea. We really enjoyed having some time to walk around on our own and climb a rock or two. I highly recommend this tour! 👌🏻 I hope that soon many visitors will once again be able to enjoy the scenery there and the kindness of the locals! 🤞🏻

The best experience on our trip to Jordan! We had a campfire and a lunch in the desert made by local people! It was very good. We went to climb desert rocks and a lot more.:) If you are looking for going in the desert choose them.

We did 2h jeep tour and overnight at the camp plus breakfast. Our host/ guide tour was so nice awesome and sweet : Mohamed is super cool, good person to spend a day with. He knows all the spot as we live there. The sunset is magic you feel like in the movie and peacefull at the camp with all the stars. We recommand to go with the Dream Team and yes you will have the best time at the desert. We were two girls and it was safe for us so family, groupe of friends or solo traveler : Everyone will be well welcome with this peaceful team

The stay at Desert Dream Camp Wadi Rum was a great and authentic experience. The tents are cosy and the dinner tent is decorated with nice carpets and pillows. Eating dinner as well as sitting at the warming fire (real desert experience: nights can get cold) is considered a very social event and offers the opportunity to chat with locals. In case of questions you were always helped by the owner Bakhir and staff.

Beautiful landscape, sunset and amazing night sky view. We felt like part of the host family, stayed around the fire at night and had dinner together. Everything is authentic, but with great wi-fi connection ;-) The food was excellent, very tasty.

We stayed overnight in the camp, went to watch the sunrise and then did the 2 hour 4WD tour. Badhir and Rashed were so accommodating and did a wonderful job. They cooked a traditional meal and we spent the night socialising with music and dancing. The camp was clean and well looked after. Our tour was perfect, informative and fun! Bakhir and his team are really nice and friendly people. We had a great 2 days in the desert. We went for 2 hikes and they were great too. The camp site was basic but is very clean and they had hot shower! For the price we were very happy and got the complete Bedouin experience!
