Begin uw dag in zuidelijke richting op de I-35 richting de beroemde Magnolia-markt in de Silo's! We bezoeken ook Magnolia Table en Magnolia Press Coffee Shop. Tijdens de rit vermaakt uw gids u met interessante verhalen over de geschiedenis van Texas. We komen aan in Waco, Texas voordat je het weet! Er is voor elk wat wils op Magnolia Market at the Silos. Winkelen, spelletjes, de tuin en zelfs een hapje eten. Trakteer uzelf op Silos Baking Co., de bakkerij op het terrein vol met persoonlijke recepten van Joanna. Stop bij de tuin; Joanna's visie was dat de tuin een ruimte zou zijn waar het gezin samen kan verkennen en de lessen van de tuin kan leren. Bezoek Magnolia Seed & Supply. Deze kleine winkel verkoopt tuingereedschap en benodigdheden. Ontspan op het gazon ... Op het grote groene gazon in het midden van het pand, geniet van de grote doos vol met games. Bijna elke zonnige dag is het grasveld bedekt met ouders en kinderen die maïskolven spelen, aardappelzakken rennen en het voetbal rondgooien. De gazonspellen maken dit meer dan een plek om te winkelen, maar ook een plek om te spelen en te genieten van tijd met familie en vrienden, een picknick in de schaduw of een hapje eten bij de Food Trucks. Bezoek de 36-voet lange trailer van Jimmy Don op de parkeerplaats [Magnolia]. Naar schatting drijven 400 mensen per dag van Magnolia Market af om te bladeren en selfies mee te nemen. Een korte rit van de Magnolia-markt bij de Silo's is de Magnolia-tafel. Als de tijd en beschikbaarheid het toelaten, geniet je van een maaltijd (niet inbegrepen) met je vrienden en familie of haal je iets op.
Bezoek Jimmy Don's JDH Iron Designs, schattige winkel; gespecialiseerd in op maat gemaakte metalen kunstontwerpen, van kunst aan de muur en woondecoratie tot aangepaste projecten en alles daartussenin. Naar schatting 400 mensen per dag komen over van Magnolia Market. Jimmy Don is vaak ter plaatse en gasten ontmoeten hem graag en maken graag foto's.
Bezoek de wijk Castle Heights om Cottonland Castle te zien. Chip en Jo hebben zojuist de renovatie van een eeuwenoud kasteel in het hart van Waco voltooid. Kom langs voor foto's.
Kom langs bij Magnolia Table, Chip and Jo's populaire restaurant voor ontbijt of lunch, (reserveren verplicht), gespecialiseerd in verse ingrediënten van eigen bodem en goed, ouderwets koken. Bezoek The Table's Gift Shop om een herinnering aan je bezoek op te halen.
Neem een kijkje in Hotel 1928, het onlangs gerenoveerde luxe boetiekhotel van Chip en Joanna; oorspronkelijk ontworpen in de stijl van een Moorse Revival-lodge uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw.
Stop bij een van de meest iconische HGTV Fixer Upper-eigenschappen, genesteld in het hart van Waco.
Het openbare kunstsculptuur Branding the Brazos ligt in Indian Spring Park aan de voet van de Waco Suspension Bridge en schetst een levendig beeld van de vroege geschiedenis van Waco. De sculptuur, die drie bronzen cowboys te paard en 25 bronzen runderen toont, stelt een Chisholm Trail veedrijfwerk voor.
De historische hangbrug van Waco was de langste hangbrug met één overspanning ten westen van de Mississippi toen deze in 1870 werd voltooid. De brug werd gebouwd met een kabel geleverd door John Roebling Co., die de Brooklyn Bridge in New York City bouwde. Cruciaal voor handelaren, vee-drives en reizigers voor meer dan een eeuw, de brug staat als een icoon van Waco-geschiedenis. In 2008 maakten de eerste stukken van de sculpturen "Branding the Brazos" hun debuut naast de brug. De torenhoge Chisholm Trail-sculpturen, vervaardigd door Robert Summers, bevatten een overgrote, bronzen padbaas die Longhorns over de Brazos rijdt.

Magnolia Silos exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtfully everything has been designed—the layout flows beautifully, the shops are unique and inviting, and the entire property feels both inspiring and welcoming. Eli was fantastic and truly elevated the experience. He went above and beyond by taking us through all aspects of the property, including Chip’s office, where we were able to see a museum-style collection of memorabilia that tells the story behind the brand. That behind-the-scenes access made the visit feel even more special and memorable. What stood out most was the bigger impact this place has on Waco, Texas. It’s not just a destination—it’s a vibrant hub that brings energy, creativity, and community together in a meaningful way. You can feel the pride and vision behind every corner. Highly recommend visiting if you want to experience something both uplifting and well-crafted.
We visited the Waco Magnolia Market at the Silos. We did not go on the tour, just walked around on our own and had lunch and shopped
Great place to visit! The story behind the silos and the church are amazing. We are not big shoppers but it was great to see what has been done with the place and lots of people there enjoying the shops, food trucks and grounds.
We had a wonderful day exploring with Rebecca. We appreciated the stories and local colour. She took excellent care of the two of us and went out of her way to show us a couple of extra places based on our interests. We truly appreciated her thoughtful gesture of dropping us off for a wonderful recommended supper. We loved everything about the day and would book with Rebecca again.
We had a fantastic experience. From all the history and story behind Dallas as we left to Waco Texas and how it all happened for Chip and Jo.
Liz and Don our tour guides, made this tour exceptional. It was fun and so informative. A beautiful drive too by the zoo and river! Really a highlight of our visit to Waco. This tour is a must and ask for these two amazing guides!
As it was our first time to Texas, my husband and I were looking for a tour to Waco to see the Magnolia Silo’s. Rebecca was our driver in a private vehicle. Just the 3 of us. The entire day was wonderful. The ride from Dallas to Waco was filled with information about Texas. The history, the side stories of what went on and what is still happening. Rebecca was a wealth of information. And she loves her state of Texas. The arrival at Waco after an easy drive was exciting. We saw everything we could. The Silo’s, the ball field, the Chapel, the restaurant, the Castle and several renovated homes and even got to meet JimmyDon in the place of business. We shopped a bit, ate at the food truck area and sat and had a coffee from the coffee shop. On the way back, we made a stop at the Texas Rangers Museum which was a great reflection about the days of the elite Police force of that era. The day was perfect. Exactly what we wanted to do and see. I highly recommend this tour as it was so much more than just Waco. It was about Texas!!
This tour was one of the best we have done. Our host Erin was amazing, friendly, knowledgable. The silos tour was awesome. A huge thanks to Erin and Rebecca for making things easy, completing dining reservations for us, taking endless photos and giving us all the time we needed to cover all the things to do throughout the tour. We will definitely be using Discover Dallas tours again in the future.

GUYS GUIDE: - Plan on Street Parking & walking. Surprise her by dropping her off at the NE corner by the Bakery. Limited small lots nearby, some charge $10. - Cruise thru some of the shops. Look for the awesome man-sized Demo Day hammers. - Grab the kids or some guys and play whiffle ball on the turf ball diamond ala "Sandlot". BYO equipment or buy them in the #16 Shop. - Cornhole is another active option. - Ample room for tossing football on the turf. - #16 Shop has great guy merchandise ranging from vintage looking sports balls, man care toiletries, games, to awesome leather goods. - They serve good black coffee and Boylan root beer. Food trucks offer tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken and waffles. - Or relax under awnings, porches, trees, or by the outdoor fireplace.
