Ontsnap aan de hitte en drukte met toegang tot de Akropolis in de vroege ochtend, begeleid door een expert die de geschiedenis tot leven brengt tijdens deze boeiende groepstour. Vervolg uw reis door de charmante wijk Plaka, waar u langs de geplaveide straatjes wandelt en belangrijke historische bezienswaardigheden bewondert die de essentie van het rijke erfgoed van Athene vastleggen.

Ontmoet je gids op kantoor van Key Tours en bereik de zuidelijke helling van de Akropolis, waar je het Dionysus-heiligdom en het Dionysus-theater zult bewonderen.
Loop de heuvel op die naar de belangrijke locatie van de Akropolis leidt en houd je camera gereed voor het maken van foto's van de historische monumenten van de Akropolis, waaronder het Parthenon, het Erechtheion, de Propylaea, de Tempel van Athena Nike en het voetstuk van Agrippa.
Na de Akropolis-site te hebben verkend en bergafwaarts te gaan, bewonder je belangrijke bezienswaardigheden van de hoofdstad van Griekenland, waaronder de oude Agora en het nationale observatorium van Athene.
Vervolgens ga je naar binnen en loop je door het unieke district van de stad, Plaka. Vergeet even de stadsgeluiden. Ga rond Anafiotika, de bovenste wijk van Plaka en ontdek met je gids de rustige, pittoreske en mystieke verborgen hoekjes. Wandel door de ontelbare kleine steegjes en bewonder de oude witgekalkte herenhuizen met de bewerkte houten of imposante ijzeren deuren en de kleurrijk geschilderde sluiter. Vind verborgen juweeltjes van ongerepte schoonheid en prachtige uitzichten en leer geheimen die zelfs voor veel Atheners onbekend zijn.
Na een tijdje komt u aan in het Bathhouse of the Winds, het enige openbare bad van Athene dat tegenwoordig overleeft. Het dateert uit de eerste periode van de Turkse overheersing (1453 - 1669) en staat in de buurt van het Romeinse forum en de Tower of the Winds.
Via het Forum Romanum, het Fethiye-moskeemuseum en de bibliotheek van Hadrianus kom je uit op het Monastiraki-plein, misschien wel het oudste overgebleven plein van de stad. Na het einde van de tour kun je de rommelmarkt bezoeken, een van de beste plaatsen om zo ongeveer alles te kopen of verder wandelen en genieten van je lunch of koffie in een van de kleine, pittoreske winkeltjes, het creëren van herinneringen van je leven.

Excellent tour lot of infuriation provided. Our guide Kostas was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and went at a good pace. In Plaka he showed us areas we would never have discovered on our own. Thank you Kostas for making the tour so great.

Guided tour in English lasting about 4 hours (2h30 Acropolis + 1h15 Acropolis Museum). We were accompanied and guided by Ilektra, a knowledgeable and patient guide with excellent English; she told us about the history, life, and interesting facts related to Athens, its history, and life at the foot of and inside the Acropolis. We met at the meeting point a few minutes from the archaeological site at 7:50 AM (Early morning is certainly the best time for the visit, as you avoid the heat which could be atrocious in the summer). Recommended: hat, water, and comfortable shoes; suitable for everyone, but considering that you walk outdoors, uphill, and on uneven and at times slippery ground for 3 hours. Beautiful experience recommended for those who want to visit the Acropolis with the addition of historical information.
The company is extremely professional and organized. The office where it is the meeting point is close to the Acropolis, making it very easy to access. Chris, our guide, even being Greek speaks Spanish as if it were his first language. Extremely attentive!
Our guide, Evi S, was magnificent. Her knowledge is incredible and presented very well. She kept our group together and moving at a good pace - no mean feat in the crowd! More history than I imagined. Definitely wear good walking shoes as track is slippery and uneven in parts.
