Onze tour begint rond 08.30 uur en eindigt rond 13.00 uur. Deze tour omvat bezoeken aan verschillende attracties in slechts 5 uur. De eerste attractie is het Huis van de Maagd Maria, waar ze vermoedelijk haar laatste dagen heeft doorgebracht. Ten tweede lopen we door de marmeren straten van de oude stad Efeze, die ooit een belangrijk centrum was voor de Ionische Liga, maar de ruïnes die je zult zien stammen uit de Grieks-Romeinse tijd.

Het is het huis waar Mary haar laatste dagen heeft doorgebracht. Inderdaad, ze kan in het gebied zijn gekomen samen met Saint John. Deze plaats werd officieel uitgeroepen tot heiligdom van de rooms-katholieke kerk in 1986, en sindsdien is het een populaire bedevaartplaats geworden. Paus Paulus VI bezocht het heiligdom in 1967.
Efeze is een uitzonderlijk getuigenis van de culturele tradities van de Hellenistische, Romeinse keizerlijke en vroeg-christelijke periode. Efeze is een belangrijke site voor het christendom; als een van de zeven kerken van openbaring. Apostel Paulus bracht waarschijnlijk twee en een half jaar door in Efeze tijdens zijn derde zendingsreis. In twee uur zul je de stad verkennen door te wandelen in de marmeren straten, begeleid door onze Engels sprekende gids. Tijdens onze tour zien we Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens. De bezoeken aan Private House (zogenaamd bordeel, ‘Terrace Houses’) is een optioneel bezoek voor een extra 25 ₺ / persoon en uw gids moet vooraf worden geïnformeerd. Na Terrace Houses gaan we verder met onze verkenning met Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, Arcadiane (Harbour Road).

It was a very good tour and the places were very cool to see. Once in a life time experience would do again. Also the tour guide was very nice and kind and willing to take pictures and knew lots about the locations.

Our tour was great. The timing was easy and flowed well. Our guide was amazing. Guls was sweet, extremely knowledgeable and made our experience even better. The lunch which was in on included was very tasty and served in a very friendly setting. I would definitely recommend.

Gül was a fantastic tour guide! She had so much information and was so friendly and nice to spend time with. The tour was very efficient and effective at seeing as many sites as possible while not getting stuck behind the large tour groups. The lunch was one of the best we’ve had in Turkey!

We had a great experience on our tour. Our guide, Ibrahim was informative and personable. He answered all our questions and shared his vast knowledge. We enjoyed Mary’s House, Ephesus and a lovely lunch. We felt the hospitality of the Turkish people we met. Everyone was eager to share their culture with us, from showing us rug making, to how China is made, to allowing us to sample Turkish delight. We enjoyed the entire day. Our driver navigated the streets well and the vehicle was comfortable and air conditioned. Thank you Ibrahim for a lovely, unforgettable day!
We did a private group tour with Gul and had a great time. She was very informative, friendly and accommodating. She is very knowledgeable and took great care of the group, making sure we went to each location at the optimal time to be the most comfortable during the summer heat. Our guide Guruy was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly, providing great stories and history of the area and sites. Our van was very comfortable and perfectly air conditioned. Guruy let us look around at our leisure and was very laid back / flexible with our time at the sites, all the time providing us with interesting facts and stories. Turkish lunch was delicious.
