Ervaar drie van de meest indrukwekkende oude locaties in de regio buiten de belangrijkste tempels op de archeologische vindplaats Angkor: Beng Mealea en de Koh Kor-tempel. Je rijdt in een minivan of ander klimaatgestuurd voertuig van Siem Reap naar Beng Mealea en Koh Ker. Dit is een geweldige manier om een dagje sightseeing door te brengen, omdat u dan in uw eigen tempo kunt gaan en zoveel tijd kunt doorbrengen als u wilt aan de bezienswaardigheden die u echt interesseren. Het spoor nadert aanvankelijk vanuit het noorden op dezelfde as als het centrale heiligdom, dat zich aan het uiteinde openbaart, langs de noordoostelijke kwart van de tweede omheining van het monument en leidt naar het einde van de oostelijke verhoogde weg, net voor de overblijfselen van de tweede gopura.

Stop bij Beng Mealea, 40 km ten oosten van Angkor Wat, Cambodja. Reis ongeveer 66 kilometer van Siem Reap Center. Het tempelcomplex is nooit gerestaureerd en het is maar een fractie van de omvang van de bezoekerspopulatie van Angkor Wat. Neem de tijd om te ontspannen en tot rust te komen op het grote, open terrein rondom de tempel. Reizigers kunnen 's ochtends een leuke tijd hebben om rond de tempel te dwalen, terwijl het meestal stil is. Als je van fotografie houdt, betekent dit ook dat je een aantal fantastische foto's kunt maken als je gaat.
Stop bij: Koh Ker-tempel, RN64, 2 km ten zuiden van de ingang van de Koh Ker-site, en Srayang, 100 km ten noorden van Siem Reap, Cambodja. Koh Ker Lost Archeological Site bevindt zich 120 kilometer ten noordoosten van Siem Reap. Koh Ker diende hoogstwaarschijnlijk als de staatstempel van Jayavarman IV toen het de hoofdstad van het hele rijk was (928-944 n.Chr.). De Khmer-monarch, Jayavarman IV, verplaatste de hoofdstad naar Chok Gargyar, dat sindsdien Koh Ker is geworden.

I highly recommend this tour! Sengheak and the driver Sokhai were very considerate and made the experience truly special. It might be even better to join this tour after seeing angkor wat, as it offers a great comparison.

I had a great experience with this travel agency in Siem Reap. I joined a day trip to Koh Ker and Beng Mealea, and everything was very well organized. Our guide Boray was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He explained the history clearly and made the long journey enjoyable. The driver was excellent as well — very smooth and safe driving. I went on a tour around Koke Temple, Bemmelia Vande Icerei. My guides were Mony and Johnny. Each of the ruins is unique, there are many sights to see, and they guided us through the historical background, so it was a lot of fun. They stopped by recommended shops along the way, provided water and snacks, showed us where the scaffolding was bad, and cared about meticulously, so I enjoyed it stress-free. The lunch shop was beautiful and delicious. If I ever came to Cambodia, I wanted to ask for another tour like this. Thank you very much.

This tour was spectacular. our guide Nary and driver Kosal are the best of the best. We went into the tour with little knowledge about Cambodia. Nary gave us the full rundown. He explained the history, religions, people, agriculture, wildlife and geography of this amazing country. Could not have had a better guide. This tour puts you right in the jungle amongst ancient temples and of course the Pyramid that rises above it all. Plenty of wildlife to be seen from snakes to spiders, stick bugs to massive trails of ants. These sites are steeped in rich history, covering multiple religions, wars, and the ongoing preservation. It is like stepping into another world. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Siem Reap, absolutely amazing experience. Nary's positive attitude and depth of knowledge truly made the trip one of a kind.
