Maak kennis met onze Engelssprekende gids in het lobbyhotel, dagexcursie Jakarta Highlight, begon zijn geschiedenis in de 14e eeuw als een klein havenstadje en is vandaag de dag een bruisende metropool. Een bezoek aan de oude binnenstad van Jakarta vindt plaats in de Chinese stad in het commerciële centrum Glodok. Het volgende bezoek is de oude haven van Jakarta - Sunda Kelapa Harbor. Houten pinisi-zeilschepen met 2 masten meren daar nog steeds aan, terwijl dragers goederen van en naar vervoeren zoals ze dat al sinds de 13e eeuw doen. Bezoek dan de Istiqlal-moskee – de grootste moskee in Zuidoost-Azië biedt plaats aan 200.000 mensen en de kathedraal van Jakarta – deze indrukwekkende neogotische kerk uit 1901 is de huidige zetel van de rooms-katholieke aartsbisschop van Jakarta. De lunch wordt geserveerd in een lokaal restaurant. Bezoek het Nationaal Museum verder, een archeologisch, historisch, etnologisch en geografisch museum. Bezoek het Nationaal Monument dat in 1975 werd geopend en werd gebouwd om de strijd voor de Indonesische onafhankelijkheid te herdenken. Daarna transfer naar hotel.

De eerste plaats die je bezoekt is de Istiqlal-moskee. Dit is de grootste moskee in Zuidoost-Azië en biedt plaats aan een gemeente van maximaal 120.000 mensen.
Daarna rijdt u naar de haven van Sunda Kelapa. Dit 500 jaar oude havengebied was een onmisbare schakel met de markten van de buitenwereld in het 15e-eeuwse koninkrijk Pajajaran. Het was vroeger de havenstad Sunda Kelapa waar de Portugezen in het begin van de 16e eeuw handel dreven met het hindoeïstische koninkrijk Pajajaran. Sindsdien is deze haven in het bezit van de Portugezen en Nederlanders.
Ga verder naar Monas (Monument National) is een 132 meter hoge toren in het midden van het Merdeka-plein die de strijd om Indonesië symboliseert en de strijd voor Indonesische onafhankelijkheid herdenkt.
Deze erfgoedsite van 1,3 vierkante kilometer stond in het verleden bekend om de centrale handel in Azië vanwege de strategische ligging en natuurlijke hulpbronnen. Deze site is altijd vol met mensen die door de straat en het centrale plein dwalen.
Gereja Katedral gebouwd in de neogotische stijl die in 1901 werd ingewijd, een veel voorkomende bouwstijl om kerken te bouwen in die tijd.

Visiting the National monument, we were lucky enough to watch some of the rehersals for the upcoming Independence day celebrations. Jeffrey was a great guide full of interesting information.

As we did not have long in Jakarta,we booked the full day tour to see the city. We were accompanied by a Tour guide and a driver, in a well air-conditioned car. Sonny (guide) was friendly, knowledgeable and keen to ensure we were comfortable. Itinerary was comfortable and we did not feel rushed. Iggy was a safe driver,
Hit all the main tourist sites. The guide and driver were friendly and informative and answered all our questions. Impressed with the mosque and the people there are friendly and accommodating. Visit to a puppet maker to learn and potentially buy. No pressure from the puppet maker. The lunch was plentiful and fairly good.
My colleague and I have been show around Jakarta by an experienced driver and guide. The tour went smooth, the guide was prepared and polite. We could learn all about Jakarta and Indonesia culture in a day. I truly reccommend this company. The food included for lunch was good and good quantity. The car provided was clean and with good AC. All the sites described have been visited plus some extra customization.
<p>The tour guide was very engaging, and had a fairly good command of the English language. The itinerary was just nice for a day tour, without having to rush between locations. Unfortunately the main building of the National Museum was not accessible, and we only had access to the non-permanent exhibits. Otherwise a great tour overall!</p>
<p>The tour guide Fibriniesa was great as well as her time management of the tour which was about 6 hours long and not 12 hours as advertised. Lunch was amazing.</p>

<p>Definitely is a quick and dirty way to see Jarkarta and understand the culture especially you have limited time in Jarkarta.</p>
<p>Donovan, our guide, and Auckland, our driver, were very good. We started at Chinatown and finished at the National Museum. It was spoilt somewhat by Donovan not appreciating the tip that we gave him. Auckland on the other hand was extremely appreciative.</p>
<p>Viator full day highlights of Jakarta was really a nice private guided tour, as I had in the past too. Very good and informative guide Patty and a cool and patient cab driver were really nice companion of the tour.<br/> Only thing which we didn't like was the selection of restaurant for lunch. If you pick up the customer from a 5-star hotel, your package lunch should also be of that standard.<br/> Otherwise the tour was memorable. Thanks Viator.</p>
