Bezoek het grootste meer van Italië, met zijn schilderachtige landschappen rijk aan historisch erfgoed en charme. Neem de trein van Milaan naar Desenzano Del Garda en geniet vervolgens zelfstandig van een boottocht naar Sirmione met zijn prachtige Romeinse villa en de Grotten van Catullus (Grotte di Catullo). Na de tour heb je vrije tijd om door de smalle straatjes te slenteren en tijd voor de lunch. Uw Gids neemt u mee naar een beroemd ijscafé waar u de authentieke en heerlijke Italiaanse gemaakte gelato kunt proeven, indien u dit wenst bieden wij u een glas wijn aan in plaats van gelato. Keer terug naar Desenzano per boot voor wat winkelen en trein naar Milaan Centraal Station met je Gids.

Natasha was an excellent guide. Friendly and knowledgeable. The only negative is that this trip is a little overpriced at NZ600 pp. Basically a 2nd class return train ticket (from Milan), a 20 min ferry ticket and a Gelato.

From Milan, you hire the train to Desenzano, a summer village on the edge of Lake Garda.You train every half hour As you get off the station, descend down Cavour Avenue to the lake. From there you can walk Desenzano at ease, it has very lively streets, full of shops I recommend lunch in one of the bars that are on the edge of the lake. And hire the two-hour boat tour on the private tours offered to a lake from the main jetty.

It was a wonderful journey with my wife and children from Milan to Desenzano on a comfortable train that in no time took us to Lake Garda, a jewel of northern Italy, surprising for its landscapes, villages surrounding the lake and culinary culture. The tour included a boat ride to Sirmione. The children enjoyed themselves in a big way with the Local Guide who accompanied us at all times. The ice cream at Sirmione was the missing icing on the cake. Sirmione Castle is a unique beauty for its location and state of preservation.

Our guide, Renzo, was a wonderful tour guide. Our small group tour turned out to be a private tour and Renzo was very accommodating to our wishes. Lake Garda and the two cities we visited were beautiful. We really enjoyed visiting the castle in Srimone, walking along the beaches, the delicious lunch and the gelato! We had a great time on this tour. Since we were the only couple on this date we had the complete attention of our guide who had vast encyclopedic knowledge of the area. This is a beautiful area full of history, shops and scenic views. Delightful way to spend a day outside the city.
