Je ontmoet je gids voor de Vaticaanse Musea. Je zult het Vaticaan betreden dat, hoewel het een van de kleinste landen ter wereld is, een complex van musea herbergt, waarvan de waarde moeilijk te kwantificeren is. Allereerst zult u de Belvedere en de Pigna (dennenappel) binnenplaats bewonderen, daarna zult u de Picture Gallery waarderen. Het herbergt een verbazingwekkende verzameling die Giotto, Perugino, Leonardo, Caravaggio, Dali omvat ... onmogelijk in enkele regels te beschrijven! Volg uw gids voor de belangrijkste tentoonstellingen. De gids zal zich concentreren op Griekse en Romeinse originelen, verschillende appartementen van de paus geschilderd door meesters zoals Raphael. Even belangrijk zijn de beroemde galerijen van Tapestries, Candelabra en Maps.
Het tweede deel van de tour is de niet-te-missen attractie, de Sixtijnse Kapel, met zijn ongelooflijke plafond van Michelangelo en zijn opperste meesterwerk, het Laatste Oordeel. Vele andere scènes zijn geschilderd door de beste Italiaanse kunstenaars, zoals Perugino, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio en andere meesters. Het zal verrassend opwindend zijn om in het midden van zo'n schoonheid te staan.

- Zoals aangekondigd door de Directie Musea en Cultureel Erfgoed, willen we u meedelen dat van 11 januari 2026 tot april 2026, Michelangelo's fresco van het Laatste Oordeel, gelegen in de Sixtijnse Kapel, niet zichtbaar zal zijn voor het publiek vanwege buitengewone onderhoudswerkzaamheden. Houd er rekening mee dat de Sixtijnse Kapel, met zijn gewelf versierd door Michelangelo, de Vaticaanse Musea en Rafaëls kamers gedurende deze periode open blijven voor het publiek. De hele muur van het Laatste Oordeel zal echter worden bedekt met steigers om een complex en delicaat restauratieproces mogelijk te maken.
- Houd er rekening mee dat de toegangstijden onderhevig kunnen zijn aan kleine wijzigingen buiten onze controle, afhankelijk van de beschikbaarheid van tickets en hoge bezoekersaantallen. In dergelijke gevallen zullen wij u zo spoedig mogelijk informeren.

The private tour gave us the perfect opportunity to enjoy the wonders and splendor of the Vatican Musea in a more personal manner. Of course there are a lot of people around but this formula allows for a more relaxed experience. Our guide Massimo was very good with excellent knowledge of the many treasures on display in the magnificent hallways. Also his extensive knowledge about the history in general of the Vatican and the popes brought life to tour. He allowed us a private moment to enjoy the Sistine Chapel which was very nice for a Michelangelo fan such as myself.

Massimo was an excellent tour guide! Massimo’s breadth of knowledge about Vatican City as a whole elevated this tour experience beyond the vast knowledge he knows about the Museums. It is also important to point out that with being a private tour, he was able to curate an experience specifically to exactly what I was wanting to see. If I were to come back and do it all over again I would want Massimo to be my tour guide. Being a solo traveler having a one to one experience through Vatican City allowed me to appreciate a deeper love for the history that was involved.
