Van 8:30 - 9:00 Onze gids en chauffeur halen u op bij het hotel. De eerste bestemming is de Vong Canh-heuvel. Vanaf de poëtische Vong Canh-heuvel is het Hue-landschap in je ogen. Hier maak je kennis met Hue en het boeddhisme in Hue. Met sereniteit en schone lucht hoef je alleen maar diep in te ademen en een kopje thee in de frisse ochtend is een goed begin van de tour!
De tempel van Tu Hieu, bijna 200 jaar verborgen in een dennenbos, is een iconisch en emotioneel verhaal van Nhat Dinh's kinderlijke vroomheid onder de Nguyen-dynastie. De gids laat je kennismaken met de tempel en een bekende Zenmeester, Thich Nhat Hanh, terwijl je door deze plek wandelt en de vredige omgeving ziet. Je gaat meedoen met het zingen - een regelmatige activiteit in de Tu Hieu-tempel, die je een beter beeld geeft van het dominante Mahayana-boeddhisme in Vietnam.
14:00 Na de lunch vertrek je naar de Huyen Khong-tempel, een van de zeldzame tempels van het Theravada-boeddhisme in Hue. Van veraf kun je liedjes horen komen uit dennenbossen en de beekjes, als je eenmaal bij de pagode bent, is het duidelijk om te genieten van de geest van het boeddhisme dat de Huyen Khong Son Thuong-tempel binnengaat door zijn prachtige gebouwen, adembenemende constructies en vredige sfeer. Neem deel aan de meditatiesessie of dharma-talk in de tempel is een levenslange ervaring!

We had excellent guide who was knowledgeable and spoke very good English. The conversation with the Buddhist monk was really interessant he took a lot of time to talk to us.
The day was spent visiting Tu Hieu Pagoda where Thich Nhat Han began his monkhood and later returned after his exile in France to live out the remainder of his life, there was also a visit to the adjoining abby. Lunch was prepared by the grand-daughter of one of the Chef's of the Imperial Palace and it was exquisite. We visited Thien Mu Pagoda and Bao Quoc Temple, the oldest in Hue where sits 4 Venerable Monks. My guide was kind, knowledgeable and everything was well planned. This tour soothed my soul and deepened my appreciation for Buddhism in Vietnam. Restour is a special tour company, Thank You.

I Nam provided me an intimate tour of the way that Buddhism manifests itself in Hue and its environs. We met early in the morning, and he brought me to a beautiful secluded spot to share tea and the Bodi Dharma. Nam provided me with much clarification that I was in need of a Buddhist practitioner. We ventured forth and visited Thieu Temple. There we had another pleasant conversation amid a welcoming community and natural beauty. I was, on two other occasions, able to visit the temple on my own, so a real highlight was visiting a remote Theravada Temple where I was able to mediate in a sensitively decorated Pagoda. There, I learned the art of calligraphy and was treated to a piece of original calligraphy from one of the monks that captioned "Happiness is the Present Moment." I concluded the tour as a very grateful, and spiritually satisfied, person. Nam and I also made Spring Rolls together. I am fortunate enough to now being able to call Nam a good life-long friend.
