Vier 250 jaar Amerikaanse geschiedenis tijdens onze award winnende wandeltour met kleine groepen inclusief tickets voor de top van het Washington Monument, zodat u niet om 7.00 uur in de rij hoeft te staan voor tickets voor dezelfde dag! Laat ons de geschiedenis & verhalen achter de gedenktekens op de National Mall uitleggen! Terwijl we reflectie en respect aanmoedigen, houden we de tour boeiend en leuk. • Lincoln Memorial - zie het beroemde standbeeld, hoor over onze 16e president, zie waar MLK Jr. stond om de "I Have A Dream Speech" te geven. • Vietnam Veterans Memorial - hoor de verhalen achter de muur met namen van de doden en vermisten in actie. • Koreaanse Oorlog Veteranen Memorial - zie de 19 beelden die militairen vertegenwoordigen. • MLK Memorial - eer onze Dr. King bij het nieuwste monument op het Getijdenbekken. • WWII Memorial - vind Kilroy verborgen tussen de kolommen ter ere van de staten en gebieden. • Witte Huis - zie het zuidelijke gazon van het Witte Huis waar Marine One landt.

Het is het meest iconische monument van het land, ingewijd in 1922, ter ere van de 16e president, Abraham Lincoln, die een bijna mythische en gerespecteerde plaats inneemt in de harten van Amerikanen overal ter wereld.
Zie de beroemde Reflecting Pool bij het Lincoln Memorial terwijl het zich uitstrekt over de National Mall; gezien in Forrest Gump en historische evenementen zoals Dr. King's I Have A Dream Speech.
Dit monument, een rustige plek voor reflectie, heeft meer dan 58 duizend namen van Amerikaanse slachtoffers uit dit conflict, geëtst in de zwarte granieten panelen. Tegen de muur staat het Three Soliders Statue en een gedenkteken voor de vrouwelijke verpleegsters die dienden.
Dit monument heeft een zwarte granieten muur die 19 roestvrijstalen beelden weerspiegelt die de 38e maanden van de Koreaanse oorlog vertegenwoordigen. Dit was niet alleen een Amerikaanse inspanning, en dit monument eert al die landen van de Verenigde Naties.
Stap uit de National Mall naar het Tidal Basin en bezoek een van de nieuwere gedenktekens gewijd aan Martin Luther King, Jr.
56 granieten pilaren omringen de fontein in dit majestueuze eerbetoon aan de grootste generatie Amerikanen die in een tijd van economische depressie volwassen werden en als helden uit dit conflict kwamen. Wandel over het terrein en je leert over verschillende aspecten van de oorlog vanuit het perspectief van de VS die vochten in zowel de Atlantische als de Stille Oceaan. Opgedragen in 2004, dit monument is populair bij bezoekers aan DC.
Zie het zuidelijke gazon van het Witte Huis, waar de helikopter van de president, Marine One, landt.
555 voet lang, dit is de grootste vrijstaande metselwerkstructuur ter wereld! Een monument voor de eerste president en vader van het land, George Washington. Sinds 1888 torent dit monument uit boven DC en het omliggende platteland.

Greg was great at keeping a good pace. We appreciate his knowledge and willingness to work with all
Vicky was our guide and she was so knowledgeable and friendly. She kept track of where we were all from, knew many details about the monuments. She even guided us to a public restroom and water fountains to refill our water bottles. When she stopped to speak about each place she managed to find shade. The tour did not happen at its original time because of the heat, but the tour company kept in contact with me because I wasn’t sure if we would make it because of our flight arrival time. I had booked two other DC tours and the others did not communicate at the same level. The others couldn’t tell me if Washington monument tickets would be for the same day!! I had no such issues with DC by foot. They explained how their tours work but also asked for flexibility because of a potential heat wave. They were right and were a great company to work with. Excellent communication and an excellent guide.
If hot bring plenty of water. Our guide was excellent. You do a lot of walking of course. Make sure to check out the basement of the Lincoln Memorial.
We learned a lot and had a great time! So many great stories and details that we would never have known from guidebooks alone.

This is a walking tour, but well worth it, if you don't mind walking a lot. Becca was a terrific tour guide. She had good communication with us and shared historical details we enjoyed. Would take this tour again. Take a bottle of water with you.
