Anthony was fantastic. His knowledge of the history in the V&A Museum was amazing. Every room we went into he was descriptive about the art and history of the Pieces. Mixing it with a little humour and the deep knowledge he has made the tour a pleasurable experience. At the end of the tour he took us back to the cafe, telling us the food there was good and showed us the wonderful interior of the rooms. We are extremely pleased we chose to get this tour and were fortunate enough to get Anthony as our guide.
Tony’s knowledge was exceptional. He was able to navigate through the crowds and get us quickly to all of the most important exhibits.
my tour guide was frankly the best guide i have ever experienced. Easy going, well-informed, light-hearted and full of interesting stories and fun facts. i was spellbound
We booked into The Rembrandt Hotel in Knightsbridge London for a couple of days to see the V&A. It was a good idea to make a weekend of it, as it took us all of that to explore its marvellous rooms and exhibits. Even if it had been empty, the marble architecture alone was incredible. Like many London museums, there is no actual admission fee, so you can go in and out at will and spend a few days exploring this museum and the fabulous collection within. It has multiple floors and rooms to explore but is fully disabled friendly, as far as i could tell. A donation is encouraged but not obligatory. The V&A is exhausting, hence the need for at least a day and a half to see everything (and I'm still not sure we saw it all), but highly recommended!
We had a fantastic time touring the museum with Anthony. He is a wealth of knowledge, and the museum is so huge and quite impressive. He took us to some things we would not have seen on our own. It is worth it.
With its incredibly rich collection of over 2.8 million objects, spanning thousands of years of human creativity, The V&A will take you to a magical journey into the far corners of the British Empire where most of the artifacts had been collected and put on permanent display for the enjoyment and appreciation of visitors. Keep in mind that the length of The V&A‘s halls where collections encompassing a wide array of mediums and cultures, from ancient history to contemporary design, covering Europe, North America, Asia, and North Africa are displayed is over 8 miles (about 13 km); so to fully explore this fantastic museum you may need a full day and strong legs.
We were last at the V&A several years ago, so it was a delight for us to have a return visit. We enjoyed the permanent exhibits and had a delicious tea and cakes at the Café. The only odd thing is that BOTH sets of elevators were not working when we were there. Since I had some knee issues, I therefore wasn't able to venture above the ground floor. However, my husband did hit the steps to see the pottery and glass floors.
This is such a diverse and interesting museum. So many cultures around the world are represented. Plan plenty of time to enjoy all the amazing collections.
