This was not a super long tour in terms of walking because we mostly were focused on a small area. The tour guide, Gary, was very nice and knowledgeable. I wish there could have been more exploration on how the wave of antisemitism in Hungary started because that part of the review was kind of quick. He also gave us several recommendations for places to visit.
Thank you, Luis! So glad Gary's knowledge and warmth came through on the Past and Present of Budapest Jewish District Tour. We really appreciate your feedback about wanting more depth on the roots of antisemitism in Hungary — that's valuable insight, and we'll look at how we can give that part of the story the space it deserves. Thank you too for passing along Gary's recommendations — glad they added to your visit! Warm regards, Agnes & the TripToBudapest Team
Our Jewish heritage tour in Budapest was one of the highlights in such a great city. The guide KRISTINA was extremely knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into the history, culture, and resilience of Budapest’s Jewish community. Visiting the stunning Dohány Street Synagogue, the Jewish Quarter, and a few Holocaust memorial sites gave us a much deeper understanding of the city’s past and present. It does not include the shoes on the river which is a must. Did not include any admissions to the three synagogues. Tour was about 2 Hours. The pace was comfortable, and our guide was happy to answer questions and share personal stories that brought the history to life. We appreciated how the tour balanced historical facts with cultural experiences. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Budapest, whether you have a Jewish background or simply want to learn more about this important part of the city’s history.
Dear Randy, Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. We're delighted Kristina's knowledge and storytelling made the history feel so personal — that balance of facts and human stories is exactly what we aim for. Regarding the Shoes on the Danube Memorial: it's actually included in our general sightseeing tour rather than this one, and we'd love to have you join that tour next time to see it. As for synagogue admissions, visiting the Dohány Street Grand Synagogue properly requires at least 70 extra minutes plus an entrance fee of 14,500 HUF per person — adding this would significantly change the length and price of this tour, which is why we keep it as an optional extension rather than building it into the public tour. Thank you again for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back to Budapest soon. Warm regards, Agnes & the Triptobudapest Team
Christine is a very funny and qualified guide , well prepaired and ready to answer all your questions.

I recommend this tour. An important part of the history of this city. Our guide Elena did a great job!
Saludos, Agnes & the TripToBudapest Team
This is a very informative easy walking tour around the Jewish quarter of Budapest. Our guide, Andre, was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English making the whole experience very enjoyable. I doubt we would have found the places he showed without the tour and even if we had we wouldn't have had the benefit of our guide's knowledge. The tour was free with an option of tipping your guide. We tipped as it was well worth taking the tour.
Dear John, Thank you so much, John — what a wonderful review! 😄 We're so glad Andras made your Budapest Jewish District tour such an enjoyable experience. The Jewish Quarter is one of the most fascinating and layered parts of the city — full of hidden courtyards, stories and places that are genuinely hard to find on your own. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood that comes alive with the right guide, and Andras is brilliant at bringing it all together. Lovely to hear you tipped him too — it really does make a difference and he'll be chuffed to read this! 🙏 Warm regards, Agnes & the TripToBudapest Team
Great tour! Great history of city add highlights of Budapest. Saw biggest synagogue in Europe. Can’t complain
Dear Josh, Thank you so much for the kind words! We're really glad the Budapest Jewish District tour left such a good impression. The Dohány Street Synagogue never fails to take people's breath away — the largest in Europe, and one of the most powerful stops on the tour. But what we love most is how the whole neighborhood tells a story: the golden era, the dark chapters of WWII, and the vibrant, creative district it has become today. We hope Budapest stays with you for a long time — and if you ever come back, we'd love to show you more of this incredible city. Warm regards, Agnes & the TripToBudapest Team
The tour was led by a lady called Dora. She was very knowledgeable about the Jewish history of Budapest. Tour took just over two hours. Dora was happy to answer any questions and she was very interesting and engaging.
Dear Simone, Thank you for this wonderful review! Dora is one of our most knowledgeable guides on the Jewish District tour — Budapest's Jewish history is layered and complex, and she has a real gift for making it both accessible and moving. We’re so glad she could answer all your questions and bring the past and present of the quarter to life. If you’re ever back in Budapest, we’d love to welcome you on another walk. Warm regards, Agnes & the TripToBudapest Team
Krisztina has an amazing group dinamic and control! Definitely recommend it!
Dear Carlos, thank you for this lovely review! Krisztina's energy and ability to bring a group together is truly one of her greatest strengths — and the Past and Present of Budapest Jewish District Tour comes alive when everyone feels part of the experience. So glad it resonated! We hope to welcome you back to Budapest soon. Warm regards, Agnes & the TripToBudapest Team
