In 1977 creëerde Jean Tinguely sculpturale machines in een ondiepe fontein waar ooit het podium van het oude stadstheatergezelschap stond, en schonk Basel een beroemd nieuw monument.
Deze kerk is tegenwoordig de thuisbasis van het Historisch Museum van Basel.
Samen met de Mittlere Brücke is de Basler Münster (kathedraal) waarschijnlijk de beroemdste bezienswaardigheid in Basel. Met zijn rode zandstenen muren, kleurrijke dakpannen en dubbele torens siert geen enkel ander gebouw het stadsbeeld van Bazel zoals de kathedraal.
Het Museum der Kulturen Basel behoort tot de toonaangevende etnografische musea in Europa.
U komt langs de levendige markt van Basel.
Het stadhuis is de zetel van de regering en het parlement van Bazel. Midden in de oude binnenstad valt het vooral op met zijn rode gevel, de karakteristieke toren en speelse fresco's.

Somewhat superficial introduction to Basel, but also checks all the boxes. Would be nice to cover some places beyond Old Town. Props for nice small details about the sightseeings to keep tourists engaged. Recommend the tour to people that have never been to Basel before.

High energy and professional, Ann was well prepared and did a fine job. Suggestions- Guide needs to use an inexpensive microphone so she can be better heard. Also, guide should carry an umbrella or similar thing to hold high, as there were huge crowds that made it hard to see where she was going. Holding up her hand with her picture portfolio is not sufficient, as she is quite short. And lastly, guide should slow down and await people in the restroom. She pointed it out and then continued to speed onward! One man never found his way back to us. Lastly, use your Basel card if you have one to cut the price of this tour in half.

We have booked multiple tours with Viator but this one was the absolute worst. While this tour was described as being in German and English, the time spent on providing information in English was extremely short compared to the German explanations. On top of that it seemed that our guide kept apologizing to the German speaking people often saying to us "and now I need to talk in English". At the end of the tour she even noted that the tour went over time because she had to repeat things in English. My recommendation to tourists...only book a tour in your native language. My recommendation to Viator...only offer tours in one language.
