Als je een actief persoon bent die op zoek is naar alternatieve dingen om te doen rond Yogyakarta, is deze tour alleen voor jou. Kedung Kayang waterval en Selogriyo rijstterrassen zijn beide mooi, maar vaak over het hoofd gezien door de reizigers. De naam zelf komt de reizigers niet zo bekend voor als Borobudur of Prambanan. Hoewel het verkennen van de tempel een van de hoogtepunten in Java is, is het ook zeer aan te bevelen en de moeite waard om een paar uur te rijden om deze verborgen juweeltjes te vinden. Kedungkayang en Selogriyo beide biedt u het landschap en de rust. Maar meer dan dat, ze bieden u de kans om de gedenkwaardige ontmoetingen met de lokale bevolking en tradities te ervaren. Een wandeling maken door een uitgestrekt stuk rijstterrassen en onderweg boeren ontmoeten zijn allemaal voor jou die van avontuurlijke reizen houdt met een vleugje lokale waarden

Als je op zoek bent naar alternatieven om te bezoeken als je in Yogyakarta of rond Magelang bent, dan is de Kedung Kayang-waterval een waterval die je niet mag missen. Deze waterval bevindt zich in het Nationaal Park van Mount Merapi. Wat betekent dat? Het betekent dat je kunt genieten van een mooi uitzicht op deze waterval met de berg Merapi op de achtergrond. Na anderhalf uur rijden vanuit Yogyakarta komen we aan bij de ingang van de Kedung Kayang-waterval. Op het bord bij de ingang staat dat je naar boven of naar beneden kunt. Het leuke aan deze waterval is dat je vanuit verschillende hoeken van het uitzicht kunt genieten. Je kunt ervoor kiezen om de trap op te lopen om de omgeving vanaf de top van een boom te bekijken met de waterval onder je, of de trap af te lopen om van de waterval recht voor je te genieten. En wat is beter? Je kunt beide doen! -de rit van het hotel naar de Kedung Kayang-waterval-app. 1,5 uur.
Vanaf de parkeerplaats leidt onze chauffeur u door een aantal lokale woningen waar u een glimp kunt opvangen van het dagelijkse leven van de boeren. Vervolgens brengt hij je naar het entreehokje aan het begin van de route waar je een kaartje kunt kopen. Een korte wandeling later bereik je een punt dat je zicht uitstrekt naar de rijstterrassen beneden. Je kunt zelf de rijstterrassen afdalen, van het uitzicht genieten, foto's maken, het buffelploegen van dichtbij bekijken als je geluk hebt, of een praatje maken met de boeren. Ze zijn uiterst vriendelijk! De wandeling van 2 km naar de tempel is niet moeilijk. Hier en daar zijn er hellingen, maar niet steil. We raden u aan om uzelf uit te rusten met de benodigde uitrusting, aangezien de plaats behoorlijk blootgesteld is aan de zon. De tempel is klein maar goed onderhouden. U kunt even de tijd nemen om van het landschap te genieten voordat u naar beneden gaat. Je neemt een andere route terug naar de ingang, maar met een soortgelijk adembenemend uitzicht op rijstterrassen die zich uitstrekken tot aan de horizon en glinsteren onder de zon.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Wayo our guide was funny and cheerful and took very good care of us. The rice fields were beautiful and we loved the waterfall. I would recommend that you bring waterproof sandals because the last part to the waterfall was a bit of a clamber over rocks and wading through the stream. But very much worth it, we highly recommend this tour and this guide.

I booked this tour to enjoy some nature outside of Yogykarta City and really enjoyed it! My guide was Salma, who was very patient and professional. He also told me a lot about Yogyakarta and Indonesian culture during the car ride. The Kedung Kayang waterfall was so beautiful, and the Selogriyo rice terraces were so lush and green. The trip was truly worth it.

If you are looking for a special experience, book here. We had such a lovely and relaxed time with our driver and tour guide Fajar from Trans Marindo Yogyakarta. He is so much fun to go with and his language skills are perfect. We first went to the hidden waterfall and continued to a local panoramic scenery near the volcanos. Additional plus was a great (real) coffee ☕️ while enjoying the view. Not a crowded place and since up high (1100m) pretty cool. Best day outside Yogyakarta ever. Thanks Fajar ❤️ you are the best. I attended this trip with my group of friends, and we had Fajar as our tour guide. He was awesome and gave us a lot of insights on the long drives and also while we were walking, answering any questions we had to his best ability. He was a great photographer at the waterfall and the fields too! Not to mention his F1 level driving skills. The experience was amazing and I could not recommend it enough. We only saw one other group of tourists at the fields so it's definitely a lot less crowded than other areas. We were lucky and the sky was clear enough to see the volcano which was awesome. A few notes for anyone considering this experience that I wish we knew is; (1) it is quite physically demanding in terms of how much walking we did when at the fields and also to get to the waterfall at the bottom, and (2) definitely bring shoes that you can wear in the water if you want to see the waterfall at the bottom because you have to cross 2 streams/rivers to get to it (we did it bare feet and were fine but if you're nervous about those things then I recommend water shoes). It was also very culturally immersive in terms of walking on the small paths through the fields instead of on a path next to it. There was also a chance to buy some locally farmed coffee at the fields so make sure to bring some cash (we didn't try any but could be good for any coffee lovers). Overall, I 100% recommend this experience to anyone interested because there were some insane views that you don't want to miss.

Great way to see the country side and get away from the crowds. We did 4 miles or 6 km of walking. Our guide Marman was excellent. He has a great eye for taking pictures, and we never looked this great. He was very informative. Highly recommend this activity and the guide Marman

Yeldhy was the driver today, and he had also been an outstanding guide as well answering many questions I had in mind. We visited the hidden water fall first with a good hike crossing two streams and then visited Selogriyo Temple and the nearby locally produced coffee shop. This was a good tour, a great opportunity to see the country side in Central Java.
