Dit is een ongehaaste wandeltocht om veilig en soepel de verborgen plekken van de medina en zijn soeks te ontdekken met een slimme, gediplomeerde gids en een goede verhalenverteller. Geniet van een flexibele SLOW PACE-wandeling van 3 tot 4 uur door onderling verbonden steegjes van de medina, waarbij je de bakkerijen, traditionele ovens, karavanserai en andere oude schatten bezoekt.Je zult authentieke locaties verkennen die slechts een paar toeristen kunnen zien. Sommigen van hen staan niet eens open voor toeristen. Tijdens het wandelen leer je niet alleen de ware geschiedenis en het verhaal van elke wijk, maar ook de oude wortels. De focus zal ook liggen op de workshops en de oude delen van de souks van Marrakesh. Een echte aanrader voor nieuwsgierige reizigers die van geschiedenis en cultuur houden en als tour om je vakantie in Marrakech te beginnen. Dat maakt het leuker en veiliger.

Vanaf ons ontmoetingspunt Café-restaurant Argana, gelegen op het grote plein Jamaa El Fna, beginnen we met Bab Ftouh: een van de oudste binnenpoorten en een van de souks-ingangen van Marrakech.
We bezoeken een plaatselijke bakker
Een van de oudste moskeeën van Marrakesh dateert uit de 16e eeuw en bevindt zich in een gedeelte dat vroeger een woonwijk was van Marokkaanse joden ✡️ "TOSHAVIM"
We bezoeken Foudouk Sarsar Een van de oudste caravanherbergen van Marrakech
We bezoeken een kookoven waar de lokale bevolking hun traditionele gerecht genaamd "Tangia" naartoe brengt om langzaam te koken
We zullen het Mausoleum van Sidi Abdel Aziz Tabaa zien. Hij was een van de zeven heiligen van Marrakech.
Souk waar de veiling van leider skins vindt nog steeds plaats.afgezien van vrijdag.
We zullen blijven wakker worden door de werkplaatsen van smeden
We zullen genieten van de geuren van de echte en verse kruidenmarkt "la place des épices". Een bezoek aan een lokale kruidenkraam is optioneel.

Mohamed makes the hidden tour routes interesting with his vast knowledge of history of Marrakech. We learnt a lot from the tour. Wish we had it earlier so we would have more time to explore the souks.. The pace was just nice and he even shared some recommendations on places to go when he learnt that we will be going to Casablanca and Fez.. highly recommended tour with Mohamed for those who want to know the hidden places in Marrakech!!

Thanks to a recommendation from friends, we (a family with 3 children, 10 and 14 years old) booked the half day guided tour of the hidden sights with Azim on our first day in Marrakesh. It was a wonderful day and Azim was the best guide, we could have wished for. He totally adapted to our needs as a family. We explored the Medina and souks together, he told us lots about the history, languages and the moroccan culture and life. We visited lots of different artisans (baker, bookbinder), learned how belts and bags are made out of leather, visited a traditional pharmacy and spice shop and tasted some fresh olives and other local specialities. He also gave us lots of tips how to avoid tourist traps during our stay in Morocco and how to negotiate but stay fair in the souks. When the kids needed a break after a couple of hours in the souks, we stopped in a lovely little traditional cafe and for our little ones Azim gave them a little challenge (counting and finding a certain number of cats on our tour) to keep them interested and going. After our tour, he even sent me links to some of the history and things we discussed so we could read in a bit more detail about it. We had the most wonderful time and I cannot recommend Azim enough !

Mohammed showed us spots we would have otherwise missed just walking around. He led us through entryways to a neighborhood stove where we tried fresh bread, as well as locals’ lunch cooking over hot coals. He led us through various souks and coached us on dealing with vendors, and we bought some local spices (with no pressure). He led us at a comfortable pace and was easy to talk to, providing lots of history and information without being overwhelming. He also kept our two teens engaged, which is a feat of its own.
