Venture slechts 15 minuten van het centrum van Arusha op de weelderige, verborgen hellingen van de berg Meru, waar onze oude dorp heet u hartelijk welkom. Hier ervaart u een kant van Tanzania die maar weinig toeristen ooit te zien krijgen, van het brouwen van erfstukkoffie op een eeuwenoude familieboerderij tot zwemmen onder een afgelegen watervalluifel. Wandel over eeuwenoude voetpaden door bananenboomgaarden, voedselbossen en borrelende beekjes. Dit is een privé, ongehaaste onderdompeling, een echte uitnodiging in ons dagelijks leven.

Begeleide dorpswandeling : De Meru stam heeft de weelderige uitlopers van Mount Meru al meer dan 300 jaar thuis genoemd. Wij bieden exclusieve toegang tot het dagelijks leven van onze pittoreske gemeenschap op slechts 20 minuten buiten Arusha. Wandel door fruitboomgaarden en borrelende beekjes terwijl je lokale gastheer verhalen vertelt over geneeskrachtige planten, oude landbouwpraktijken en de tradities die generaties lang zijn doorgegeven. Je bezoekt ook een familiecomplex en ziet hoe eenvoudige biogassystemen boerderijafval omzetten in schone kookenergie.
Heirloom Bean-To-Cup Coffee Experience : Bezoek een kleine familie koffieboerderij die meer dan 100 jaar geleden is geplant en nu de beste Meru Mountain koffie uit de regio produceert. Een ambachtsman begeleidt je door elke stap van het proces... oogsten, braden boven een open vuur, malen en brouwen. Geniet daarna van de koffie die jullie samen zetten. De ervaring is interactief, persoonlijk en ongehaast, begeleid door lokale liedjes en gelach.
Lokale kruiden, bananenwijn en lunch van boerderij tot tafel : Ga verder met een proeverij van traditionele gekruide dranken en lokale bananenwijn, gevolgd door een royale lunch van boerderij tot tafel, bereid door vrouwen uit de gemeenschap. Gerechten benadrukken de Meru-keuken, waaronder bananenstoofpot, verse groenten en seizoensgebonden gerechten, geserveerd in een ontspannen dorpse omgeving.
Hidden Waterfall Swim : Reis naar een afgelegen waterval verscholen in een ongerept bos op de hellingen van Mount Meru. Na een wandeling van 5 minuten kunt u genieten van de tijd om te zwemmen, ontspannen of gewoon genieten van de rustige omgeving. In tegenstelling tot andere populaire watervallen (zoals Materuni), is deze locatie rustig, gemakkelijk bereikbaar en zelden druk, waardoor het ideaal is voor een verfrissende en ongehaaste stop.
EXCLUSIEVE BONUS Schilderachtig uitzichtpunt over Arusha & de Savannah : Sluit de dag af bij een panoramisch uitzichtpunt met uitzicht op Arusha, de omliggende vlakten en, op heldere dagen, Mount Kilimanjaro in de verte. It was very nice I enjoyed the experience
From the time we left our lodge until we returned, we felt we were part of a family! We harvested coffe beans, separated them from their shells, roasted them, ground them and final enjoyed the rich coffee. We then were treated to a fabulous meal and were treated to different beverages including banana beer. We then walked to a beautiful river sampling sweet berries along the path. We then drove to a secluded waterfall that required the help of Calvin and Pamela so that I could descend and ascend safely. Our final adventure was a giant swing! My favorite phrase on this trip was pole pole. (Slowly, slowly)
The day went completely as thought out and planned from beginning to end. The pickup was on time and all guides were super friendly. You learn a lot about nature and also get to know the lives of the locals. I can definitely highly recommend the tour. :)
Really interesting day out. Fascinating to see ‘inside’ a Meru village, learn about their sufficiency and meet so many lovely people. Walking tour of the village, bush-to cup coffee making which was a show in itself, spice tasting and a great lunch completed the time in the village. After that, the Mangalia waterfall was beautiful and the viewpoint equally stunning. Driver Praylord and Guide Kalvin were fantastic throughout. Highly recommended.

This is an absolute must do tour while staying in Arusha! We really enjoyed making the coffee and learning how the Meru Tribe makes their coffee. It was absolutely delicious, as was the farm-to-table lunch they made for us. We also got to taste different teas, honey, hot cocoa, and banana wine. Everything was incredible. The people were so kind and our guide was amazing. Everyone was very nice and we learned a lot on this tour! Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed this tour. The food was great, the guides amazing, and the views were spectacular. If you’re looking for a way to learn more about the African culture and see the beautiful countryside with the natives Meru people, I highly recommend it.

This was a fantastic way to spend the day! The Meru village was lovely and fascinating-- we loved learning about their agricultural practices and medicinal plants. The coffee ceremony was a real highlight!! A bunch of people from the village came to participate, and the music was so much fun. Spice tasting and lunch were great. There were beautiful handmade crafts, but absolutely no pressure to buy anything. We appreciated the natural beauty of the waterfall and view. But the best part of the experience was the people-- our guides were so warm, welcoming and helpful (especially with "Bibi", our elderly mother with limited mobility)-- Asante sana to Humphrey, Pomela, Praylord, Prosper, and all!
