Je ontmoet je Gids voor het Ex Cinema Teatro Italia in Cannaregio, geopend in 1916 als groots theater en bioscoop, met opvallende art nouveau en neogotische details. Tegenwoordig is het omgetoverd tot een supermarkt met behoud van beschilderde plafonds en een sierlijke inrichting – waardoor het een van de meest verrassende verborgen pareltjes van Venetië is.
Het Joodse getto van Venetië is een historisch en cultureel rijk gebied in Cannaregio, opgericht in 1516 als het eerste getto ter wereld. Vandaag de dag blijft het een levendige wijk met eeuwenoude synagogen, Joodse musea, traditionele bakkerijen en ambachtelijke winkels. Wandelen door de rustige binnenplaatsen en smalle straatjes biedt een uniek kijkje in de Venetiaanse geschiedenis, het erfgoed en het dagelijks leven.

Such a brilliant way to spend the day! We were lucky to have Marina as our guide - such a positive, experienced and caring guide! We loved her enthusiasm, insight and knowledge. Marina took us to a side of Venice we had not explored, introduced us to food we had not had, and provided variations of local drinks we’d not tried. Loved it!

Amazing Secret food tour in Venice, Carlotta our tour guide was amazing, showing us around Venice , the unknown spots of Venice, and the chance to take a small gondola ride too! The guide was wonderful! She was knowledgeable and passionate about the city, food and culture. Unfortunately, it was only four stars due to the experience with the group. It had many picky eaters and folks that couldn’t walk far. I commend the guide for working so well with everyone. She did the best she could but it did take away from the experience for those that were really into the food drink and learning as much as possible.

The food tour was amazing. Gives you so much insight into the better lest touristy places to sample food and drink. The highlight for us was going to Ormesini (highly recommend going there if you want something to eat away from the hustle and bustle) for the fried sandwich , prosecco and risotto.and finishing up and Rosa Salva for some sweet treats. Carlotta was the perfect guide, through the tour. Friendly, smiley, knowledgeable and just happy to chat about anything as you stroll along the canals. She takes the stress away of trying to narrow the Hugh amount of choices of where to go for something to eat and drink. If you want to experience the Benicia food scene and how the locals eat and go about their day, then I highly recommend booking.

Irene was a wonderful guide and we learned so much from her, both about the food and the broader cultural context.
