When tide is high in Venice, water taxi might not be able to get to your hotel. This was our case. Travel operator notified us of alternate pick up point but we had to pay a porter to take our bags (we had lots of luggage for a 6 week trip including cruise ship & multiple climates ). All went well from pick up to drop off. Francesco our car driver to Trieste was excellent! Good driving, excellent English and very efficient at getting up into position at cruise port. Two thumbs up Francesco!

Good service. Friendly and helpful. The people were great. The van air conditioning is the reason I didn’t give 5 stars. We had 6 people and really hot outside. We were very uncomfortable.

Van driver (Vincenzo) was great, and the van was very nice! Would love to use him again! Made sure we were all comfortable and all our needs were met.

Private water taxi pick up at our hotel was prompt. He was in a hurry and not too personable. Driver was waiting at the dock to take us to our van. We can't say enough about the professionalism and courteousness of our van driver. The water taxi however was another story. He made a phone call to a porter as we arrived at the dock and we feel he was in with the porter as we were taken for 35 euros (5 euros per bag) to cart the bags a very short distance to the van.

Viator was a life saver as I forgot to book a transfer to our cruise ship in Trieste from where we were staying in Venice. They were able to book us a car with 1 1/2 days notice. It was a bit pricy for the car, however missing our cruise would have been much more expensive.

Our fiasco started days before the actual trip. We realized that the pickup (our hotel) was not directly on a canal. It wasn’t a big deal but we needed to understand where the pickup really was and plan. So we called the tour provider 5 times over one day with no answer. Finally the night before our pickup an employee answered. He was on speakerphone and generally had little interest in answering the question. He told me someone would call me back in 10 minutes. Six hours later we were texted with an explanation of where we would meet our pickup. We arrived on time and loaded our luggage onto the water taxi by literally the angriest italian I have ever met. We took a quick 30 minute boat ride where we met our drivers. It hey we’re friendly and efficient. The van I was in arrived at the port 20 minutes before the second van, because our driver thought he was in a. formula one race. He passed on the right side and into oncoming traffic. It was a life affirming experience.

Very smooth. Driver stayed in contact with us while we waited for the boat to come. The boat transfer and van were nice accommodations. I would definitely recommend this trip.
