The tickets we purchased for the dome did not work. We wasted our afternoon trying to get it figured out. Our tickets worked for St Peter’s but not the dome. Frustrating.
The service was recommended to me by a friend. The online booking process was very easy, and I thought the price was quite reasonable. I received all the details via WhatsApp, which made everything feel very straightforward and personalised. When I arrived at the Vatican, however, the staff who welcomed us were quite rude and didn't explain anything. The queue to enter the Basilica was actually slower than the regular line, which was disappointing. That said, the person I communicated with on WhatsApp was always incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive. They answered all my questions and made the overall experience much more positive. Without their excellent customer service, I would definitely have given this service a much lower rating
This tour did not provide Basilica Dome climb, even though the title of the experience is "Vatican: Skip the Line St. Peter’s Basilica and Dome Ticket". Also, the email reminder included this information: - Inclusions * Reserved tickets to St. Peter’s Basilica. * Reserved tickets to the Dome (optional) * Multilingual digital audio guide * All reservation fees These were all checked items. It is not clear the Dome climb is not included. We would not have spent that much money on tickets that did not include the dome climb. We are unhappy that did not realize this oversite until we were at the Basilica and were denied entry to the dome climb. We have been customers of Viator previously and are disappointed that we felt this was a deceptive offer. I feel that a refund of 1/2 of the ticket price is fair.
We couldn't find the meeting location, walked around for 45 min, tried calling several times with no answer. Finally gave up.
Audio link didn't work. I had to buy audio guide from the basilica staff. There was no one at the indicated meet point to guide.
Amazing experience, so much to do and see. Entrance was easy once you found it and we got to skip so many lines and crowds having pre- booked tickets. Absolutely worth purchasing prior.
I selected this tour with the “dome” option. The title says Basilica and Dome. Yet the booking receipt said Basilica Only. This was not discovered until day before. I asked tour operator where my dome tickets were she said I selected Basilica Only (which I purposely did not). Either way it is very misleading to title the tour “Basilica and Dome” and then give “Basilica Only” tickets. You can go to the Basilica for FREE. This is a scam.
The description in the title of the tour was deceptive and the organization of the whole thing was extremely poor. The meeting location link was wrong, which of course, was very confusing and stressful.
Regarding the entry, it was very smooth; however, I paid for entry to the basilica and dome with your service, and when I wanted to access the dome, it was not included in the code provided to me, so I had to pay an extra fee.
