De Sixtijnse Kapel staat bekend om zijn prachtige fresco's, met name de meesterwerken van Michelangelo. Het plafond van de kapel is versierd met adembenemende scènes uit het boek Genesis, geschilderd door Michelangelo tussen 1508 en 1512. I have taken many, many tours and had excellent tours through viator- this was the absolute WORST and too expensive for the quality. Despite small tour, tour guide was hard to hear (and no audio offered) and some provided information that was either wrong or unhelpful. For example, he would point to a map and say that's a map. Or point to an urn and say that's an urn. Talked about myths as if they were facts (we had studied up before coming) and added little value. Tour was not efficient in the heat (which was bad at 8:30 so can't imagine later in the day) and he didn't read the crowd, there were only 6 of us and some VERY miserable teenagers. Half way through he saw how unhappy they were and said you can go if you want. Maybe it was lost in translation but it came across as incredibly rude and felt like he dismissed us from the tour. Get your own tickets and an audio guide, 1/10th of the price and more information. Or use other company. Terrible.

Extremely disappointed. This was not an early bird tour as marketed. We lined up behind hundreds of people to enter the museum and were let in when opened to the public. Our guide Julia was disheveled, disinterested in answering our questions and provided very little information about what we were viewing. She mumbled over the headset given so what we could gather was very limited. The thousands of people being herded through the museum made it hard to keep up with our guide as she ran through the exhibits. We traveled with another group who paid half the price and had a way better guide that entered the museum at the same time as we did. Would not recommend the early entrance option as it was no different than the general admission. You may also be better off getting an audio guide as our guide provided very little/unclear information.

Just to clarify: "early bird" refers to the earliest entry slot made available by the Vatican Museums, not all authorized partners have access to earlier time slots than that. During high season, some queuing can still occur even with this ticket type. I loved visiting the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. The guide was excellent, providing history and images, making us part of it. She explained the religion in such a way that no one felt offended. Excellent!!!
